Discuss Star Trek

In the novel "Yesterday's Son (1983)" by A. C. Crispin, Spock discovers he has a son, Zar, whose mother is Zarabeth (STOS S3E23 "All Our Yesterdays").

Of course this did not happen in the television series or the movies.

Is it possible that Spock has children? Who would be the mother?

  1. Leila Kalomi

  2. Droxine

  3. Zarabeth

  4. Christine Chapel

  5. T'Pring

  6. Saavik

  7. Valeris

  8. Anyone else?

Maybe that explains the casting of Celia Lovsky as T'Pau for "Amok Time." At least there would be ONE female on the set, that Shatner wouldn't hit on. We can hope.

How about the Romulan Commander in "The Enterprise Incident"?

@to Jet .

The Romulan Commander was a good candidate ..there was palpable sexual tension between the two but alas they didn't have enough time to actually make out..just some foreplay

Leila and Spock certainly made out so it's quite possible she ended up being pregnant.

Christine Chapel...hard to imagine ...she was all for it but even when Spock was going through pon farr he didn't turn to her for help.

I expect that was because it would have meant cheating on T'Pring.

If all Vulcans have arranged marriages, does that mean that they are faithful(virgins) until they marry?
That would mean that only the females who come after the breakup with T'Pring, would be eligible.

I didn't get the impression that T'Pring and Stonn saved each other for marriage, but the episode didn't really get into that.

It's not that Vulcans can only mate every seven years. It is that there comes a time in a Vulcan's life when he must either kill, mate, or die. This time happens every seven years or so.

In the intervening time, mating is optional.

I hadn't heard the part about Shatner, but I believe it 100%. I respect her a great deal for not being a total female dog about Trek fans like Teri Garr. When they had to recast Saavik, couldn't they have found an actress that favored Kirstie just a little? The Saavik action figure looks exactly like her which, IMHO, speaks volumes.

I'm betting he didn't hit on Kay Elliot, who played Stella Mudd. Jane Ross, who played Tamoon in Gamesters of Triskelion may have also been spared.

Other than that --- Jeez! I wonder why his marriages were so unhappy?

That is not always the case..

Some men want to have their cake and also eat it.

They have a loving , understanding wife and ligitime children and at the same time continue to act as if they were free .

Wasn't that also around the time Kirstie had some serious addiction to the Columbian marching powder?

I can't speak for any other Vulcans... err, for anyone else... but I would much rather have Pon Farr-ed with Kirstie Alley (as she was then) than Robin Curtis.

I guess it's true what they say, "Pon Farr is blind."

OMG, Knix. We agree on something! The world is ending!

@sukhisoo wink Well, after T'Pring dumped Spock for Stonn, Spock was a free agent and could sleep with anyone he wanted too.

And boy he did .... laughing he got more poon tang or Pon Farr than Kirk ever did.

@Nexus71 grin Oh Be-have! BTW, what was the total medal count for The Netherlands at the Winter Olympics?

If they did end up getting married, then what would he have told T'Pring about Leila?

"I was high at the time. My hormones were beyond my control."

Or would he have just kept it to himself?
