The Boys fear being shut down with the lose of Capt. As it turns out despite some negative aspects of the Nasty Boys the police Brass can not argue with their results. The brass sends out a new team leader, Lt. Krieger, who is drastically different leadership methods that class with some of the Nasty Boys.

Drug dealers are being killed by a vigilante. With a personality profile the Boys begin a door to door search for the killer. Larson begins to doubt the team's effectiveness while he attempts to get a gang-banger out of the life with out blowing his cover. Taking a leap of faith Larson breaks his cover in a act of faith to the gangster. On his own Larson goes after the vigilante, almost getting himself trapped. In a last ditch effort to get the vigilante Larson and the gang-banger put themselves in the snipers crosshairs. The trap works but the courts kick the sniper loose, who takes his revenge by killing the reformed gang-banger.
