man i was excited for this but after 6 episodes i had NO idea what was going on and some of the scenes were incredibly long for the sake of being incredibly long. when i find myself searching on my iPad for foreclosure properties in the area, i know it's time to move on. bummer

I can't say I blame you. Dougie was such a mistake I should have tapped out long ago.

I'm loving it, oddly enough I tried to get a friend into Twin Peaks and he gave up after 4 episodes of Season 1....

I'm finding this season utterly enchanting. Every week I turn in, having no idea what I'm about to see. Pretty cool.

Right now, I am thinking of giving up too. I watched episodes 1 through 6 from season 1 and I don't think I will watch season 2. I'll most likely finish up the last episodes of season 1, and call it a day. Some of the themes and plots were interesting, but it started to become just too jangled together for me. I just feel like there is really no resolution coming, after glimpsing through one of the plot descriptions from an episode of season 2.

At first I was going to call you out as a troll for pretending to think this thread was about season 1 instead of season 3... but then I realized you were correct either way!

The problem isn't the PERSON posting a message here, the problem is the way the place has been SET UP.
imdb, for example, had a SEPARATE BOARD and place to post for what you're calling S3.
But LYNCH himself also said THE RETURN version of TP IS NOT SEASON 3 of the ORIGINAL SHOW.
Because he said It's more like an 18 HOUR LONG MOVIE version of the STORY.
And when I first arrived here I also set up another BOARD for THE RETURN where people could go to discuss it, but one of the MODERATORS REMOVED IT, which then resulted in others who had POSTED at imdb coming here and being CONFUSED when they didn't find a BOARD for THE RETURN, and then NEVER COMING back here again.
So that's the MAIN PROBLEM is the way THE RETURN VERSION of TP has been COMBINED here with the other 2 SEASONS of an OLDER TV SHOW that was MADE ALMOST 30 YEARS ago when THE RETURN should also have it's OWN MESSAGE BOARD.
In other words, it's also NOT FAIR to blame someone for TROLLING when it's the MODERATOR who REMOVED the RETURN BOARD who is responsible for the CONFUSION.
There was also a VOTE taken among the MODERATORS with HALF of them VOTING for THE RETURN BOARD, and the other HALF voting to keep THE RETURN here and all MIXED UP with the other 2 SEASONS that were made almost 30 YEARS ago.
So BLAME those who RUN this place who VOTED to continue the CONFUSION that one is confronted with whenever one comes here to this PLACE and finds THE OLDER TV SHOW all MIXED UP with the NEWER VERSION of the SHOW.
A 30 YEAR TIME PERIOD could also mean some of those who come here weren't even alive 30 YEARS ago, and might not even be aware for that reason that the OLDER SHOW was made way back in the EARLY 90'S.
Whatever the case may be, the scene in THE RETURN where we see AGENT COOP FLOATING around inside of what appears to be a GIGANTIC SEE THROUGH BIRD HOUSE was OUTSTANDING and is one of the best SURREALISTIC SCENES that LYNCH has ever produced before.
And that's also the other MAIN ISSUE, is the way others don't realize how he's an AVANTE GARDE ARTIST who deals with DREAM LIKE ISSUES that one finds associated with the SUB CONSCIOUS.

MULHOLLAND DRIVE and ERASERHEAD (LYNCH'S FIRST FILM) are also listed as examples of an AVANT GARDE or SURREALISTIC FILMS in this link.

So naturally anyone who isn't aware of that matter, and doesn't understand of what kind of an ARTIST LYNCH is, would also be CONFUSED about what it is they're watching whenever they watch something that he's written, directed or produced.

I have watched other films by Lynch, so I get what was happening with the artistry. I watched both Eraserhead and Mulholland Drive. I actually liked certain aspects of the style in Twin Peaks, but as a whole, I'm just not feeling it. Also, on Netflix, there are two seasons combined together. The first one has 8 episodes, and Season 2 is like 22 episodes or something. I saw that they were from the 1990's, however I didn't see a season 3, although I seemed to remember a return version of the show. This can lead to confusion in a similar way that happens when things are named the same title like Friday The 13th, Halloween or Texas Chainsaw Massacre (there have been so many versions I lose track).

In the TP TV Series from back in the 90's as I recall LYNCH wasn't working on S2.
https://www.quora.com/Was-David-Lynch-heavily-involved-in-season-2-of-Twin-Peaks
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CLRxpsvUYAATupW.jpg .
So that's why it feels so different from S1. Because LYNCH was also UPSET when they FORCED them to reveal who killed LAURA PALMER.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin_Peaks#Declining_ratings
Because after viewers found out who did it, many of the STOPPED WATCHING the show.
So that's probably also the reason why you're not FEELING the same way about it.
Because LYNCH wasn't working on it anymore after a certain point, and because of the way interest in watching it also tends to WANE once you find out who killed her.
TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN was also aired on a PAY CHANNEL and not on REGULAR TV like the other series was back in the 90's.
So you also had to PAY to see it this time, and unlike the way most viewers could watch the ORIGINAL SHOW, not as many were able to see the NEW VERSION of it unless they had SHOWTIME.
Anyhow if you haven't seen the SCENE where AGENT COOP FLOATS inside of the SEE THROUGH BOX that looks like a GIANT BIRD HOUSE, you should try to check it out sometime.
He's also got his arms stretched out like he's a BIG BIRD, and another CREATURE also shows up inside of the BOX who EATS the HEADS off of another couple who are having sex (leaving behind their CORPSES which was also a very GRUESOME sight to behold).
The guy had also been HIRED as a SECURITY GUARD to watch the BOX (which also had several CAMERAS set up around it). Then the girl comes along with some coffee for him and they start having SEX when this other CREATURE shows up inside of the BOX who ATTACKS them and EATS their HEADS off of their bodies.

And here's another CREEPY SCENE where a BIG BUG CRAWLS into the MOUTH of a young girl (we later learn it's Laura's TEENAGE mother):

Thus also leaving films like Friday The 13th, Halloween or Texas Chainsaw Massacre to EAT their HEARTS OUT due to the way they get OUTSHINED by what LYNCH has done in THE RETURN.
