Hi there,
We don't have IMDb ids for seasons (or multiple IMDB ids per series) so there's no way to really fix this on our end.

this is not season 3 of tt0098936 this is season 1 of tt4093826 so the fault is in your db ;)

the additional problem, as already mentioned the 2017 Twin Peaks is running under tt4093826 on IMDB so if i search your database for IMDB tt4093826 the result is nothing, so its impossible to correlate between IMDB and TMDB and i don't think this is what you want

We've decided to keep it as a 3rd season for now. This was decided a long time ago and matches how some other DBs categorize it as well:

Season 0 is a special designation for "Specials". You'll see lots of season 0's.

I really do think it would be worth categorising Twin Peaks (2017) as a separate series under tt4093826, as it has never been referred to as 'season 3' or even a 'season' in any of its branding, rather as "A Limited Event Series" on just about every official poster. A miniseries which follows on from the original TV series and the movie. The reuse of the original series' title is admittedly misleading, but it is still a new series rather than a new season. While there might be a trend in some other databases categorising it as season 3, it is still an incorrect trend, therefore not worth following.
To create a separate entry would also be in keeping with TMDb's own trend. Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life (perhaps the most relevant example as a miniseries reviving a long-cancelled TV series on a different network with a practically-full returning cast) is rightfully not categorised as season 8 of the Gilmore Girls series. Fuller House is rightfully not categorised as seasons 9 and 10 of the Full House series. Still Open All Hours is rightfully not categorised as seasons 5-7 of the Open All Hours series. Saved by the Bell: The College Years is rightfully not categorised as season 5 of the Saved by the Bell series, etc., etc. Like Twin Peaks (2017), they are sequel series, not new seasons, and are acknowledged as such on TMDb.
Considering the relative ease of adding a new entry for Twin Peaks (2017) as a separate series, I argue it's a correction worth making, and one I'd be happy to contribute towards.

Well, looks like David Lynch himself has settled the matter. Never mind!
