Discuss Star Trek: Voyager

At the end of the episode, the Doctor asked Kim from the other ship if his counterpart had a name. Kim said he didn't really have time to ask. Really? He'd been serving with him since the beginning of the voyage. He didn't have time to ask?

Also, is it me or did the two Janeways seems to be a little too close to each other's personal space when talking? It's probably so they could both be on the older-sized screens, but still...they were almost close enough to smooch!

@GForce59

is it me or did the two Janeways seems to be a little too close to each other's personal space when talking? It's probably so they could both be on the older-sized screens, but still...they were almost close enough to smooch!

This is WEIRD but the same thought also came to mind while watching this eppy ... that the 2 of them were about to KISS one another.

Then that other STRANGE scene from BLADE RUNNER 2049 POPS UP where a HOLOGRAPHIC JOI BLENDS together with another GIRL as a way to have SEX with her boyfriend K.

And one also began to wonder what it would have been like to watch JANEWAY making LOVE to herself.

But that would also be out of character for her and more like something that the character Q would do???

One could definitely see someone finding him in bed with himself and making love to himself.

"And one also began to wonder what it would have been like to watch JANEWAY making LOVE to herself. " I think she did that in every episode - definitely considered herself to be the star of the show.

What about the way 7 of 9 PARADES all around the ship in that CAT SUIT that shows off her D PLUS sized breasts (which also looked VERY FAKE and which also seemed to be confirmed when one sees her off screen in person like when she hosted an MTV show at the beach and the D pluse sizes looked more like A or B MINUSES). ???

Somehow it's hard to imagine Janeway as being the most ATTENTION SEEKING character on the ship when 7 deliberately chooses to keep dressing that way ... as if to say"Look at me and come and get me".

I think it's possible that her outfit was an executive decision rather than her own choice to be fair to the lady.

Of course her outfit was an EXECUTIVE decision, but in the FICTIONAL WORLD itself that's not suppose to be an issue and we're suppose to suspend our disbelief and assume 7 chose the outfit to wear HERSELF.

And that also MAKES NO SENSE either when she's SHY and doesn't like being around others. And it's also HIGHLY UNLIKELY the CAPT (who's in the role of being a MOTHER to her would allow her to walk around the ship dressed like that which could also result in a sexual assault situation).

And her apparance would also be DISRUPTIVE to her crew members as well.

It's the same as if she were to PARADE around the ship in a BIKINI.

Because you can also see her UNDERPANTS in that CAT SUIT.

Imagine someone dressed like that wearing something like that around an office.

It just MAKES NO SENSE to have her dressed that way ON the SHIP even though we also already know the reason for it is to BOOST RATINGS of the show.

But YES her character is also a REFRESHING challenge to that of JANEWAY.

And the interaction between the 2 of them was also a wonderful sight to behold.

The SEVEN of 9 DOLL they made us also wearing the SAME OUTFIT and you can also see it's UNDER PANTS too.

There's just NO WAY a MILITARY SHIP CAPTAIN would allow someone to PARADE around in an OUTFIT like this.

It would cause way too much trouble.

Shall we assume that you have no daughter?

Most fathers wouldn't cheer for her to walk around in an outfit that shows off her UNDERWARE and her body in this way.

And what if BARBIE is also really a KEN???

Something like that could also explain the need for the thick UNDERWARE.

Wouldn't it also be funny if JERI was really a JERRY and those who admire HIM/HER were also drooling over another dude???

:grinning:

Here's 7 at her MOST SEXY look of all:

:relaxed:

And here's something else interesting that one's found out about the CAT SUIT she wore:

http://www.thegeektwins.com/2014/11/5-horrifying-facts-about-seven-of-nines.html

  1. It Made Her Pass Out

In her first appearance, Seven of Nine appeared as a full Borg drone. When Ryan first put on her Borg uniform, the costume designers apparently didn't take the prosthetics into account. As a result, the collar kept pressing on her carotid artery, cutting off blood flow to the brain if she turned her head. It made her pass out on the set on at least two occasions.

  2. She Couldn't Breathe

The first thing you notice about Jeri Ryan's silver catsuit is that it's tight. Really tight. The official explanation was that the catsuit was made of a revolutionary fabric that helped her skin regenerate. Translation: they wanted the costume to look as tight as possible. The producers wanted her uniform to look like a second skin, and they got it. Jeri Ryan said "if I got goosebumps, you could see them." In fact, it was so tight, she had trouble breathing. At one point, they had nurses on the set with oxygen tanks, which made them finally loosen it up.

  3. The Breasts Were Constructed

The other thing you notice about the catsuit are the boobs. Let's face it, they look incredible, and there's a reason. Since the fabric was supposed to look like skin, they didn't want the fabric to do what it would naturally do, which is stretch from "high point to high point" (i.e. from one nipple to the other). That’s why they made what the costume designer called "breast mounds," individual shapes on her catsuit for each of her breasts. It took a special construction of the corset, what Ryan called a "feat of engineering" to achieve it.

  4. The Corset Kept Her From Bending

The other distinctive aspect of Seven of Nine's silver costume is the vertical ribs running along the sides. The in universe explanation for them is that they're leftovers from her Borg implants, mechanical ribs. In reality, they were just there to disguise her corset. Because the catsuit was so tight, they included a corset to give her a more hourglass shape. With the ribs built into the corset, she couldn't even bend over or sit comfortably. She was relieved when they introduced the brown catsuit which had a thicker fabric, taking away the need for the corset.

  5. Bathroom Breaks Took 20 Minutes

Besides everything we've gone over, the worst part is Ryan couldn't take off the costume without help. That meant bathroom breaks were an ordeal so bad that they had to shut down the set. She said, "If I had to go to the bathroom it was a 20-minute production shutdown." At first, she avoided them by not drinking anything on the set. Then they started just taking the catsuit off after every take.

So apparently it's also a CORSET and not UNDERPANTS that she wore under that SILVER SUIT.

And looking SEXY is also a HIGHER PRICE than most of us would be willing to pay????

I think the line was written for the Kes who visited the other Voyager. That makes a lot more sense. Why Kim delivered it is a mystery.

Since one of the ships was created when they entered the nebula, that means one of the ships was created at that time, and it also didn't exist for the entire voyage of VOYAGER.

And since the DUPLICATE SHIP was also an exact copy of the other ship, there'd also be no reason why the DOC's counterpart would have a NAME (unless he chose it after the other ship was created), or a reason why there'd be anything different about him in comparison to the other DOC.

It's more like the nebula created a CARBON COPY or XEROX copy of the original ship.

I would have happily been her assistant on set.
