Discuss Star Trek: Voyager

I'm into Season 3 now. About 10 episodes in. It's really starting to become dull. Too many cliche episodes. "Harry and Tom accused of murder on a alien planet". This tired old plot dates back to Scotty being accused of murder in TOS. Riker on TNG. I just FFWD to the end and saw 'who really did it".
The latest episode is "Janeway and Chakotay crash land on planet". zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz This has been done MULTIPLE times already on Voyager. BORING. I'm simply waiting now for 7 of 9 to show up and jolt this cast a bit. And I'm suddenly wondering "Where are the Kazon? or that race with THE PHAGE"? Then again, they shouldn't keep running into the Kazon, as they have been heading at high warp away from them since Day One of the show. Sooner or later, they should just stop seeing them. Maybe that's what happened?
Somebody please tell me that this show picks it up a notch soon. DS9 was slow at first, but by the end of Season 3 and at the start of Season 4 - it was in high gear. TNG hit it's stride in Season 3 too. But Voyager seems to be stalling in Season 3.
Thoughts?

I'm power watching through DS9. Once I've finished i need to power through VOY, only seen first series though. The one annoying aspect of watching ST is if you've seen the different ST shows there are episodes that are remakes of other ST episodes but just with a different Crew.

I've been consuming 3-4 episodes a night for weeks now. Mid way through season 5. Voy is awesome. This is my second time around. Anyone else notice the reoccurring theme of mental illness? They tackle the subject about every dozen episodes or so.

The show picks up a bit when Seven joins the crew, but for the most part, the show will sputter along with inconsistent quality. Just when you think the show is picking up with a few good episodes, then a couple of below-average/clunkers rear its ugly head.

I'm doing the same thing. I'm midway through season four. The first three seasons were: "Yeah saw that before" then fast forward kicked in. Season four is looking a lot better and I'm not just talking about 6-of-1.
