Whilst playing golf, Charlie (who else?) finds the body of Graham Hawkesworth buries in a bunker. Investigations show that he was apparently having an affair with an unknown woman. This ‘other woman' is the prime suspect in Hawkesworth's murder and it appears that she is none other than Susan. It transpires that Graham invented the story that he was having an affair and chose Susan as the ‘other woman' in order to make his wife jealous. His wife is the real killer and plans to make Susan the next victim.

However in a rather confusing climax as she and Bergerac finally complete the excavation only to be attacked by the same unseen force. Bergerac later awakes where a rational explanation is given for what occurred by a recovered Charlie.
