I'm confused

The anime was one of my favorites. The titans, stories, characters, the dark story... Then they fast-forward and everyone is older (and I don't even recognize who's who), the story becomes super political (boring long bunch of filler episodes) and now they decided to not release a last episode since they realized they can't close the story.
WTF?

This is because not all episodes are listed here. There should be at least 30 episodes instead of 28.
