I been reading other sites, and quite a few posters have commented that when Penny came out of that bathroom and put that "sperm" cup on the counter in front of Leonard, they thought it was going to be a positive pregnancy test.
It’s also what I thought.
Did anyone else think the same thing?
ON A CONTINUING NOTE:
Strange, of the comments I read so far no one has offered a "for" or "against" opinion re: if it had been a positive pregnancy test. However, couple of posters did mention that such a move by the writers would have been too predictable.

I don't know why Leonard would so readily agree to this deal and why Penny would just expect him to go along. Some fans might want a pregnant Penny and some would not want another baby on the show. This whole idea just seems not thought out enough. Also Leonard being jealous of Zack and disappointed with his own career is the usual poor old Leonard routine.

One big problem -perhaps the main problem - I can see with Zack and his wife raising ANY child, even their own, is that Zack - and probably his sister too - likely only have employment, and hence income, as long as their father is alive to have them "working" at his company.

I expected Leonard to put up more of an objection; but, he can’t force her to want children. People keep saying "have"; everyone seems to forget the most important part--"want". Maybe he was able to put himself in Penny's place. And, since Penny’s decision obviously was not a deal-breaker, what else was there for him to do but respect her wishes and not press her? Of course, if somewhere down the line not having children becomes a deal-breaker and Penny is still of the same mindset, then 'the ball' is in Leonard's court.
In reading around, the two most common opinions I’ve seem re: Penny opting not to have kid(s):
(1) Her body-her choice.
(2) Divorce her—marry some who does.
(Too bad our TrothPledgerInWaiting isn’t around anymore; would love to get their take on this turn of events.)

I would think that a lot of fans just don't want the show to end with wives and babies all around.

Bernadette didn't want children and now she has two.
Penny said no to Leonard's proposal, and now she's married.
So, I expect ( ) that it's inevitable.

She didn't say no just once, she said no at least a dozen times.
So. maybe in season 20...?

Yeah it was odd as hell because she was like wait here all serious and appeared mad, she came back with a NyQuil cup I believe as if to symbolize the sperm cup. That just seemed strange and odd to do. I don't know anyone who would do that in real life or in tv or movies? It was almost as if she was saying here go do it right now!
Also does anyone know what Penny's ex Zack's company was? I totally missed or forgot what his company was? Was it a realistic success story or something just plain silly?

Menu designing/producing business. Since every food joint on the planet has them, maybe (depending on the size and the clientele of their former business) getting-rich-by-selling isn't a stretch.

But it's not Zack's company, nor his sister's. It's their father's company. Zack and his sister are both V.P.s, but that's just pure nepotism. If Zack, for sure, actually had to run things after their father's "departure" (by whatever cause) I'm confident it would soon be a smoldering crater in the ground, if there was anything left at all.

Thanks yeah I could see that being highly lucrative if you get a good cut of the billion dollar industry and if you sell it to the new owners who want to buy you out.

LOL this reminded me of this guy I met he was with his company for 30 years and then the owner retired and made his daughter the new owner/operator and she was dumb as hell and the company folded like 6 months later lol. It really does matter who is on top and running the show, when pure nepotism of someone who's a complete idiot takes over a huge company they usually go down within a year or two.

We've never met the sister? Brain-wise she could be the "Sheldon of the family" when it comes to business. So even with Zack being (to quote Mary Cooper) as dump as soup, she would be there to counter his missteps. Also, I wasn't quite clear on whether dad sold the business and split the proceeds, or left the business to the sibs who then sold it.
As for offspring running a business into the ground; same thing happened to a friend. The father at the trucking company where he had worked at for years died and left the business to his son and his nephew. They spent money as if they had a pipeline to Fort Knox. Needless to say, they weren't in business long--less than two years.

I forgot an important factor that could have made it a "realistic success" that has nothing to do with size of their business or their clientele—Location!
Maybe the purchaser didn't buy it for the business itself, but for its location.
Amazon is set to bring a new headquarters (HQ2) to Long Island City, NY. I’m not exactly sure of the new site; but even a storefront business owner lucky enough to be within that location would stand to make a group upon selling!
I once worked in a building where the company had bought out all the homeowners (except one) within a two block area in order to build a new office complex. For whatever the company was offering, the owners of that one house were not budging. So, the company finally built the complex anyway—with the parking lot enclosing the lone house on three sizes. It was so strange coming to work every day and seeing a house in the parking lot—also not a very attractive way to attract tenants. We had to have been there close to 2 years before the company finally caved and made the owners an offer they couldn’t refused.
The owners sold—made out like bandits—the house came down—the parking lot expanded. Location!

This is great! I love these types of stories especially when the average joe, who did nothing wrong gets to "Stick it to the Man!" and get a huge pay out in the end.
This also reminds me of domain names. I know if you have a killer sweet domain name the larger corporations will pay you big money to buy the domain name from you! This is pretty much how like Trip Advisor became the number 1 travel site they kept buying all the other travel site domain names and some of those guy's made like 20million!

Yeah. The lesson of “David and Goliath” gets to be relearned time and time again. Folks who consider themselves in the catbird seat are so quick to assume that they can run over "the average joe" just because….
