Discuss Dexter

The whole feel of the show changes in the middle of the series.

I'm wondering if it was due to trimming production costs. Especially when they stopped filming in Miami, FL and filmed in Long Beach, CA instead.

I think season 7 is pretty fantastic. One of my favorite seasons. 5,6 and 8 are all pretty average, but I still find Dexter as average to be enjoyable.

But I think the main reason why the feel of the show changed post season 4 is because the head writer Clyde Phillips left the series. A major change like that will have an effect on a show.
