Discuss The Sopranos

Im rewatching the series and am currently to the end of season 3. Tony was always eating on the show. Just about every episode hes stuffing his face or pushing a fork around on his plate. He was so gluttonous. I bet if you took all the times of Tony eating throughout the series it would take up an entire episode.

I’m also watching the show over again. It’s sad in hindsight watching James G’s health decline each season. I can’t believe how much he huffed & puffed. He was fairly thin for the first season. He was in a film way back with Geena Davis & I was shocked at how thin he was. What an incredible actor he was 🙁

Especially with the capacollo or capicola sandwiches he always ate. Talk about a fatty deli meat. Always bugged me when they called it "gabagool" for some odd reason. Sort of o/t but my favorite meal is linguine with clams. The fact that Tony didn't get much exercise probably did not help.

They use altered pronounciations on a lot of Italian words. Some of it is probably Neapolitan dialect and some of it is maybe a diaspora thing. Like vaffanculo is "vaffangool", manicotta "manigot", braciole "brazhol", sto cazzo "stugots".
