We want the original airing order, and I need solid proof. The archives are REALLY difficult to access... but I think Fox might have initially aired the September 2008 episodes as a second season. The revisit episode seems to be 2x01 in the Recap section. Can anyone access the VOD section?
They also aired the January 2010 episodes as a (second?) second season though.

As an update to this, Channel 4 (a prime supporter of the show) is S01-S07 rather than S01-S06. Splitting off from TMDB's S01E11 onwards. They don't have correct information on the specific episode order WITHIN the seasons, and also got 2 or 3 episodes in the previous season by mistake. However, based on the absolute behemeth of sources showing S01-S07, and based on you're own word of the FOX archive seemingly airing as a second season, I believe it's more than safe to do so.
I mean look at the air dates, it's ridiculous to assume it wasn't a new season.

The only shred of evidence I've found that it could be S01-S06, is this PDF Press Kit from fox.com: http://assets.fox.com/shows/upfronts/assets/Kitchen%20Nightmares.pdf
"Currently in its sixth season, [...] In the Season Finale, airing this Friday, May 16 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT)". If we presume they mean S01-S06, then it would confirm that at least by the end of the series it is considered S01-S06. This does not of course mean that it was always like this. And honestly, in my opinion I would still do S01-S07. Literally every other proper source of information about episode order, count, and breaks/seasons is S01-S07. The air dates between S01E10 and S01E11 is so radically far apart too, a season break here would only make sense.

Information Sources:
S01-S07: msn.com 1, epguides.com, wikipedia.com, imdb.com, fandom page 2.
S01-S06: fox.com press kit 3, thetvdb.com (probably copying us).
1 msn.com is a big reputable source that's used all the time on Wikipedia for niche/cult-classic TV shows.
2 it only has pages for s01-s06, but it is in fact in s01-s07 order and breaks, just has no info on season 7.
3 presumed to be s01-s06 purely based on the text information in the document. It does not specifically state s01-sXX
Streaming Sources:
S01-S07: channel4.com (all4), youtube.com (vod), amazon (us vod), imdb tv 4, google play, sky tv.
S01-S06: vudu 5, hulu, tubi tv.
4 through imdb.com UI, yes s01-s07, through the amazon page that uses the same videos, it's s01-s06.
5 it might be s01-s07 just with s07 not free to watch and not in the same page.
-
Other than some streaming services (< half) and some information sources (< a third) are S01-S07. The services that are S01-S06 arent exactly the most reputable sources, or have some disposition that makes it less trustable.

@banana_girl has anyone been able to confirm that season 1 showed in tmdb should be split from 1x11 and onwards yet? season 8 just aired but tmdb shows it as season 7.

Official promos and news outlets state the new season as explicitly Season 8. Therefore the S01-S07 order in my previous post seems reliable as does what the original poster has brought to attention.

i have a feeling like these sources still isn't enough as "proof" for tmdb mods to take action :-(. i will hope for the best but prepared for the worst...

As it was mentioned previously, the current seasons are irrelevant to this particular issues. What we really need to know is how the September 2008 episodes were originally released back then.
This is actually a new series: https://www.fox.com/kitchen-nightmares-us/

I don't see how what has been brought up so far is "irrelevant". It shows how theres more official sources stating now 8 seasons rather than 7. You yourself have already given effidence towards a break at ep. 11. Ep 11 also begins months after ep 10. I don't see where the confusion is nor how this hasnt been dealt with yet over years of discussion. So what is the confusion? It's clear there are 8 seasons and the break occurred at Ep 11.

Sep 21 2008 page capture: https://web.archive.org/web/20080921185652/http://www.fox.com/kitchennightmares/recaps/index.htm
States Revisted ep (S01E11) as 2x1. I seriously dont see how this isnt a shut case.

I think that archive.org source should be enough proof (crossing fingers).

That's also completely invalid to state. This is NOT a new series at all. All promos say "new season" e.t.c. Fox simply uploaded it like that as they do not have the license for the other seasons for streaming currently. FilmRise has the rights in UK, and I believe Tubi in US.

From the official press release at FoxFlash stating clear as day that it is a returning show with a new season, not a new series under the same name:

I think @PRAGMA makes a valid point.
Tubi currently owns rights to the previous seasons. and they somehow for some reason decided to combine season 2 (1x11 and on) as season 1 which is basically not how it was originally aired.

@PRAGMA posted an archive website from fox.com show 1x11 is indeed orignally aired as 2x1.
