FONG HING and LAM WING are both sorcerers of very different temperaments. Their respective sons FONG NAM and LAM MING FUNG study Chinese sorcery from them, together with their disciple LUK CHEUNG ON. The three young men have strong brotherly feelings for each other. NAM is engaged to a young girl called CHUN KIU. Yet she and her mother look down upon NAM and his father who are both sorcerers. The engagement finally breaks and NAM's pride is hurt. Feeling that Chinese sorcery has become obsolete and is no longer regarded as a respectable profession, the three young ones decide to go to the town and try their luck. At first HING does not agree to their decision. Eventually, under the persuasion of WING, HING gives them his consent.

Owing to their ignorance, NAM, FUNG and ON put them to embarrassment several times. FUNG is being mistaken as a pickpocket and the three of them are taken to the police station. With his wit, FUNG manages to make Inspector KAM release them. Having nowhere to go, they seek shelter in a temple, where they meet Inspector Kam again who goes there to investigate a case concerning vampires. FUNG tries to make fun of him but suddenly there comes a gang of robbers. The condition turns out of their control. Luckily, the secretary of the town's Chief KEUNG arrives and drives away the robbers. Despite the unfavourable conditions faced by them, they decide to strive hard to achievement in the town.

Being unable to find a job, they turn to pull rickshaws. NAM gets acquainted with the Chief's daughter YIP KA YUN while FUNG is attracted to a wealthy and beautiful girl LO MEl OR who shows no interest in him. Unable to tolerate the employer's harsh treatment, ON quits the job and starts to learn to make cakes in a restaurant. The Chief's son is heavily in debt and thinks of a plan to cheat his father's money so as to settle the debts. He pretends to be kidnapped and asks his father for ransom. This arouses KEUNG's suspicion. FUNG learns of this plot from ON. Driven by his greed, FUNG decides to snatch the ransom.

FUNG succeeds in getting the ransom but NAM deems it a. dishonest act. They two fallout but accidentally they win a huge sum of money. So they donate the ransom to a charitable organization and spend the rest buying the restaurant ON's working in and start running the restaurant themselves. Feeling happy about their bright future, they enjoy themselves in a brothel where ON falls in love with a prostitute MUl. He is determined to marry her and begins working hard for that. HING and WING miss their sons and decides to visit them in town. Upon arrival, they find their sons in financial trouble since their business does not prosper. HING helps them out of their trouble with his own savings. Their business begins to become better, without letting HlNG know, they go to have a celebration in the brothel where they meet LAl YAT SHEUNG who is an orphan seeking shelter there and is cheated to become a prostitute.

FUNG and the rest of them squander all their money and cannot foot the bill. HING comes just in time to their rescue. SHEUNG also discovers that she is cheated and runs away with them to take up a job in their restaurant. DICK YING, an evil sorcerer, is enemy of HING and WING. As he has improved in his evil skills, he comes to avenge on them. YUN finds her friend CHOW hurt and brings him to HING who discovers that CHOW is injured by a vampire. HING asks NAM and FUNG to cure CHOW while he and WING go to look for the vampire. However, while they are away, the vampire comes to attack the restaurant and they are all in danger.

NAM is injured by the vampire but luckily HING and WING returns just in time to save them. They kill the vampire and when DICK wants to run away, he is beaten by WING and falls down the cliff. KEUNG secretly saves DICK and makes a deal with him seeking his assistance in his attempt to grab the post of the chief. Feeling indebted to NAM for saving her life, YUN visits him very often and this arouses CHOW's jealousy. CHOW allies with Inspector KAM and make false charges against NAM's restaurant forcing it to suspend business for three days. On learning this, YUN scolds both of them and asks her father to compensate NAM's loss. YUN's father is unhappy to find YUN falling in love with NAM. He thinks that NAM only loves YUN for her money. In order to stop them, he sends NAM some money and asks him not to court his daughter……

NAM finds himself being looked down upon by YUN's father and the two falls out. However, KEUNG tells YUN's father not to insist on their separation because he thinks that they will eventually go separate ways due to their different temperaments. YUN is delighted to find her father not stopping them from getting along with each other and her misunderstanding with NAM gets resolved. FUNG suffers great loss in gambling and he cheats SHEUNG of all her savings. Feeling disillusioned, SHEUNG commits suicide but is saved by NAM. On learning FUNG's evil plot, NAM forces him to return all the money to SHEUNG. In order to win OR's affection for him, FUNG seeks WING's help and they decide to use magic. However, it turns out Inspector KAM gets bewitched and falls in love with FUNG.

WING eventually uses magic again and relieve FUNG of this trouble. KEUNG is delighted to find his plan going on fine so far. Apart from getting the post of the chief, KEUNG wants to take revenge on YUN's father who betrays his own father so as to get his present post as the chief of the town. These years he has been working as the secretary of the chief and patiently waiting for his chance to come. WAI YEUK HON comes to town and becomes a tutor for YUN's brother teaching him how to fire a gun. However, his real intention is to get YUN's jade which will make a pair with his own. From that complete niece of jade, WAI can get a map to hunt for hidden treasure.

YUN invites NAM to a party. PUNG wants NAM to bring him along so that he can have a chance to get close to OR. Yet NAM cannot help him. Eventually, FUNG still manages to gain admission to the party. However, OR feels much disturbed by him and even injures him. CHOW feels jealous of the love between NAM and YUN. So he tries to make a fool of NAM putting him and YUN into great embarrassment. YUN feels NAM being clumsy and a gap between the two arises. Feeling the great difference between them in their status and temperament, NAM and FUNG decides to give up courting YUN and OR. This delights SHEUNG who has secretly admired NAM for a long time. Hence, upon NAM's request, SHEUNG declines an offer of a new job so as to remain working with NAM. Nevertheless, NAM and YUN meet accidentally and the love between them rekindles.

In order to narrow the gap between them, NAM and FUNQ decide to brush them up and start learning English. SHEUNG is sad to learn that the love between NAM and YUN rekindles. Therefore, she accepts the new job offer and leaves them sadly. ON manages to save enough money to marry MUI. Yet she has already been 'bought' away by somebody else. Seeing ON in great despair, HING offers to help. With his trick, ON eventually gets reunited with MUL On the one hand FUNG manages to get a job in the company run by OR's father while DICK has made great strides in his skills and decides to avenge on HING and WING.

DICK puts RING arid WING in great danger but NAM manages to save them. Both of them are injured and NAM uses magic to cure them. Witnessing that, YUN feels disgusted. Gradually she finds herself drifting apart from NAM who is in many respects different from her. The gap between them grows so wide that YUN, decides to end their love. This greatly saddens NAM. After their separation, YUN feels lonely and despair. WAI makes use of this opportunity to win her heart.

OR's father finds FUNG being witty and shrewd. He asks him to be his accomplice in cheating his foreign business partner. Driven by his greed for fame and fortune, FUNG joins hands with OR's father. OR is unhappy to find FUNG working with her father. She asks him to sack FUNG but is refused.

SREUNG becomes a beauty queen and gains both fame and fortune. She leaves for Shanghai to shoot a film. KEUNG on the one hand tries to win public support for himself while on the other hand he asks DICK to send his vampires to kill the villagers. Catastrophe befalls the town. HING and WING cannot stand the villagers being killed and try to combat that. However, they themselves get injured. In order to combat with the vampires, NAM asks HING and WING to teach better sorcery skills to him. With much practice and hard work, he succeeds in mastering the skill.

NAIVI succeeds in beating the vampires and saves the life of YUN's father. KEUNG's hatred for NAM grows as his plan is destroyed by NAM. Witnessing all these happenings, WAI also grows suspicious of KEUNG. Mastering the new skill turns NAM into a vampire himself. RING knows no way to solve this problem and suggests burning him to death. Nevertheless, at the most critical moment, WING thinks of a solution. RING and WING use all their energy and strength to cure NAM who becomes normal again. KEUNG instigates the villagers to believe that the vampire catastrophe is caused by RING and the rest. YUN's father is also taken in by his words and imprisoned all of them. YUN cannot help to save them. On her return from Shanghai, SHEUNG is shocked to find NAM and the rest being locked behind the bars. She visits them and tries to find ways to save them.

FUNG asks SHEUNG to make use of her connection with the wife of the French. Ambassador to seek help from the French embassy. In the end, the chief has no alternative but to release them all. Upon their release, FUNG is sacked but OR's father recommends him to join hands with his friend to start a new business. NAM continues with his restaurant business. However, owing to the misunderstanding between them and the villagers, NAM feels much discriminated and ridiculed. Finally, they decide to return to their native village but FUNG is determined to stay. HING discovers SHEUNG's affection for NAM when she proposes leaving with them. Yet, NAM admits that he only regards her as a friend. Hence, they decide to leave without SHEUNG's notice. However; with MUI's help, SHEUNG comes in time to join them. They are all impressed by her and let her go with them.

Though SHEUNG joins them on the way, NAM tries to withdraw from her and this disappoints SHEUNG much. OR's father goes bankrupt after being cheated by his foreign trade partner FUNG tries to offer help but is misunderstood by OR. .F'UNG can do nothing but to wait patiently to reconcile with her. WAI attempts to cheat YUN of her jade but she discovers his real identity. His plan falls through but he still robs run of her jade. Yet, WAI is shocked to find that it is a fake. In fact, the real piece of jade is in KEUNG's hands. He forces WAI to hunt for the treasure with him. Nevertheless, they discover a powerful vampire in the tomb. In the end, WAI is killed but KEUWG and DICK manage to escape looking the vampire up in the tomb.

In NAM's native village, rumours are spread that he is having an affair with SHEUNG. NAM gets infuriated but from this incident he becomes impressed by SH~UNG's deep love for him. Finally, the two fall in love. On the other hand OR finally accepts FUNG's affection for her and starts dating with him. However, her spendthrift charioteer nearly drives FUNG into trouble. DICK is asked by KEUNG to bewitch YUN who is driven to kill her father. Yet their plan is thwarted by HING and WING. Therefore, KEUNG commands DICK to lead his vampires to get rid of them. They arrive on the day when ON and MUI get married. The situation turns chaotic and MUI is killed in confusion.

YUN being bewitched by DICK changes greatly in her character. Her father feels helpless. Later, she is driven by DICK to kill her father. In the end, her father gets injured and KEUNG is asked by the villagers to act in his place. DICK asks KEUNG to establish Chinese sorcery as a religion. However, KEUNG employs delaying tactics and only promises to build him a temple. NAM and the rest return to town to avenge on DICK. In their fight, all of them are arrested by KEUNG. NAM discloses DICK's crimes to KEUNG who pretends to believe in their words. NAM discovers that YUN is bewitched and tries to help her. When YUN learns that she has attempted to kill her father, out of shame, she wants to commit suicide.

Under the counsel of NAM, YUN comes to forgive herself and her love for NAM rekindles. However, she is sad to find that NAM is in love with SHEUNG. With KEUNG's help, NAM finally avenges on DICK who before he dies reveals that KEUNG is behind the whole plot. Despite this, NAM and the rest do not fully trust his words. FUNG is engaged in illegal business and is caught by KEUNG who makes use of him to trap NAM. However, NAM and the rest manage to escape but ON is killed. FUNG blames himself for ON's death and attempts to assassinate KEUNG. He fails and is imprisoned. NAM discloses the evil doings of KEUNG to the Chief Inspector who promises to probe into the case. NAM also tries to get rid of KEUNG with his magic power but he fails.

YUN cannot stand KEUNG's evil doings and attempts to kill him. Luckily, she is stopped by NAM. RING and WING use several means to harm KEUNG but they fail. The Chief Inspector is finally convinced of KEUNG's crimes and tries to arrest him. KEUNG attempts to escape and has a fierce fight with NAM. In the end, KEUNG gets seriously injured and before he dies, he runs to the tomb to release the powerful vampire.

The powerful vampire brings disaster to the town and many are killed. RING, WING joins hands with other sorcerers to deal with this. Yet their attempt fails and many of them are either injured or die. NAM later learns that the powerful vampire comes from the tomb and three things are needed to kill it. Therefore, they set off to look for these. Faced with much hardship, they eventually succeed in finding two of the three things. However, the vampire is coming to kill them and they are all in great danger. At the most critical moment, they find the third thing and finally get rid of the vampire.
