In a windy and snowy night, PAK Tin Yu of Black Sabre Sect and his wife with a baby son accompanied by his younger brother and the latter's wife attended a dinner reception hosted by MA Hung Kwan of the Ten Thousand Horses Sect at Plum Monastery. The ladies went inside the monastery to pay tribute while the men drank toasts in a pavilion outside the monastery. While the meal was being served, the PAKs were besieged and attacked from an ambush. A serious fight ensued. It was great bloodshed. The PAKs died.

Twenty years after the assassination of the PAKs, an orphan called FU Hung Suet grew up and carried with him a black sabre. He was in search for the assassins who had killed his parents.

YIP Hoi, the disciple of Master LI who was very skilful at darting knives was on his way back to his home town, the City of Bin to unveil the mystery of his real identity. He was told that his father was very good at using black sabre.… ...

MA Hung Kwan of the Ten Thousand Horses Sect invited YIP Hoi and FU Hung Suet to visit his Sect and to attend a gathering.

Madam SUM Sam, FU informer advised FU to be careful and it would be much better for him to get to know the place well before he attended the gathering.

YIP Hoi went to the headquarters of the Ten Thousand Horses Sect on a sedan and on his way he met Mr. Spider, MO Yung and other veterans.‧ All of them had been invited by MA.

When all the guests had arrived, MA Hung Kwan greeted the guests and said that in the past the Ten Thousand Horses Sect and the ‧ Black Sabre Sect were allies and members of the two sects were brothers to each other. He said that no matter how difficult it was,' he would find out the identity of the assassins who had killed PAK Tin Yu. Having heard MA's statement, all the guests present assured MA that they would assist in the search.

The guests stayed behind.… ...

MA Hung Kwan informed his guests that thirteen of his men had been killed at about four o'clock in the morning and he interrogated YIP about where he had been. Nevertheless MA's son testified that at the material time he saw YIP chatting with Miss MA Fong Ling, his sister. YIP, was cleared of the suspicion.

The next day, MA Hung Kwan led YIP to pay tribute at the tombs of PAK Tin Yu. He told YIP that at the time he buried the PAKs, he could not find the famous black sabre. He wondered whether FU Hung Suet was the descendant of the assassins.

MA Hung Kwan then discussed the matter with KUNF Suen, one of his fighters and doubted if FU Hung Suet was the descendant of PAK Tin Yu. Both of them were afraid that FU might take revenge on them.

One day, Mr. Spider saw the disciples of MA.… ...

YIP Hoi met Miss TING Ling Lam on his way to Goodbye Inn. He could not get rid of her and Miss TING then stayed in the inn.

YIP introduced Miss TING to Miss CHUI Lun and asked CHUI to take care of TING. TING then thought that YIP had an affair with CHUI.

YIP informed FU Hung Suet of Spider's death and he suspected that MO Yung was the killer. Later they found a stranger in MO Yung's clothes. They questioned him and came to know that MO Yung was dead. The stranger led them to the place where the body of MO Yung lied. YIP examined the scene and guessed, in the absence of any clues to support fighting or struggle prior to death, that MO Yung's body must have been deliberately removed to the present place.

Miss TING Ling Lam was jealous of Miss MA Fong Ling when she noticed that YIP was often accompanied by Miss MA. She fought with Miss MA and subsequently hurt her.… ...

YIP Hoi returned home late but he saw a suspicious person going into the room of SIU Bit Lei, the operator of Goodbye Inn. He tried to follow him but he was discovered. Nevertheless he was invited to join the group to chat.

SIU Bit Lei told YIP Hoi that someone was prepared to pay 30,000 teals to kill MA Hung Kwan.

MA Hung Kwan had set off for his journey. The main purpose for his trip was to hire a professional assassin for 20,000 teals. He found LO Siu Kai, a famous swordsman and instructed him to kill a person whose name would be provided to him later.

YIP Hoi saw a silhouette which led him to the home of FU Hung Suet. FU was talking with Madam SUM Sam who worked for MA Hung Kwan. YIP came to know that Madam SUM had been a maid of Princess Flower. She deliberately worked for MA and waited for opportunity to kill MA.… ...

YIP Hoi told MA Hung Kwan that someone was going to kill him. Having known the situation, MA requested YIP to take care of his daughter in case he died but YIP declined to be committed.

Madam SUM Sam met YIP and asked him whether he would be prepared to marry Miss MA Fong Ling. YIP said that he did not love her. Madam SUM then suggested paying YIP 5,000 teals in return for his promise to take Miss MA away from the City of Bin. This was also refused by YIP. YIP also told Hiss MA Fong Ling that he did not love her at all. Miss MA was very sad and disappointed. She thought that it was due to the attempt by FU Hung Suet to rape her that YIP had become uninterested in her. She therefore tried to persuade her father to kill FU.

On his way to the City of Bin, LO Siu Kai met Miss TING Ling Lam.… ...

After Madam SUM and Miss CHUI Lun had left the Ten Thousand Horses Sect, they came across KUNG Suen, MA's fighter. KUNG tried to overpower Madam SUM and in doing so inflicted several injuries upon her. At this moment FU Hung Suet came to her rescue and killed KUNG. Madam SUH asked FU to take care of Miss CHUI and she then left them.

MA Hung Kwan arranged a funeral service for KUNG. MA's other fighters planned to kill MA after the funeral.

MA suspected Steward FA to be the principal conspirator. MA therefore killed Steward FA and Steward WUN at the funeral.

Later MA Hung Kwan told her daughter, Miss MA Fong Ling that FU Hung Suet was the son of PAK Tin Yu but FU had mistakenly believed that MA had participated in the assassination of PAK. As FU was going to take revenge on him, MA ordered his daughter and his younger son to leave the Sect.

FU Hung Suet was on his way to kill MA.

FU Hung Suet arrived. He asked MA Hung Kwan to tell him the names of the other assassins who had killed his father. MA refused. A fight ensued. FU found out that MA had already sustained serious injury when he killed Steward FA. In order to make it a fair duel, FU promised to postpone the duel for one month. FU then left.

Miss MA Fong Ling having noted her father's injury tried to persuade MA to leave the Ten Thousand Horses Sect but to no avail because MA could not give up his possession.

LO Siu Kai arrived at the City of Bin and met MA Hung Kwan. MA instructed LO to kill FU Hung Suet. LO then suggested to fight a duel with FU.

When Miss MA Fong Ling discovered that LO Siu Kai had already arrived at the City of Bin, she went to see him and asked him to kill FU Hung Suet.

Before the duel between LO and FU had commenced, YIP Hoi and Miss TING Ling Lam saw a number of dubious characters wandering around.… ...

Miss MA Fong Ling held Miss CHUI as her hostage and intimated FU that she would kill CHUI unless FU Hung Suet promised to fight the duel with LO Siu Kai. Some of the spectators were members of the Ten Thousand Horses Sect.

The duel between LO and FU took place as scheduled. Suddenly CHUI was attacked by a dart knife. LO came to realize that the duel was unfair to FU because FU could not concentrate. LO refused to go on with the duel and quitted. Miss MA Fong Ling also felt aggrieved at her father's plot. MA Hung Kwan told her not to go home but to stay for the time being at the LAU Manor.

CHUI was injured and YIP Hoi and FU Hung Suet went to collect her personal effects from a grocery where FU was attacked but he managed to kill the attacker.

Miss MA Fong Ling came to the LAU Manor again. She requested for an appointment with the manor lord, LAU Tung Loi.… ...

When FU Hung suet came to know that SIU Bit Lei was one of the assassins, he killed SIU immediately.

Madam SUM told YIP Hoi what had actually happened twenty years ago. MA Hung Kwan, head of the Ten Thousand Horses Sect and PAK Tin Yu of the Black Sabre Sect were blossom friends.

However as the Black Sabre Sect grew increasingly powerful, MA became jealous and conspired with both PAK's enemies and his followers to assassin PAK at the Plum Monastery. These were altogether more than thirty accessories and only eight of them survived. One of the surviving men owed his life to PAK because PAK could have killed him if not for PAK's mercy. This man was regretful and grateful to PAK and after PAK's death collected his unique black sabre and gave it to Princess Flower, a mistress of PAK. At that time Princess Flower was pregnant and later gave birth to a son whom Madam SUM thought was FU Hung Suet.… ...

YIP Hoi promised Miss MA Fong Ling to take care of her younger brother. Miss MA then left them to look for her father. Meanwhile YIP Hoi and Miss TING Ling Lam were looking for FU Hung Suet and Miss CHUI Lun.

Madam SUM found MA Hung Kwan. She could have killed him but nevertheless she had fallen into love with him. She disobeyed the instruction from Princess Flower and eloped with MA.

Miss MA Fong Ling returned to the LAU Manor and learned that LAU Tung Loi, the manor lord had been out on business. His nephew, YUEN Ching Fung took care of Miss MA and he fell in love with her.

Theses survivors who had participated in the murder of PAK Tin Yu heard of the incidents of killing by FU Hong Suet and they met to work out a plan to cope with FU.… ...

FU Hung Suet met YIP Hoi at the Peach Blossoms Garden where Lady Peach Blossoms used to be but they could not find her.

In order to facilitate his plan to kill FU, LAU Tung Loi persuaded his nephew, YUEN Ching Fung to woo Miss MA Fong Ling. The latter promised to get married if he would assist her in killing FU Hung Suet. LAU then informed TING Sing Fung about the proposed marriage.

TING suggested isolating FU and he therefore invited YIP Hoi and his daughter, Hiss TING Ling Lam to spend a few days in his garden. Nevertheless when YIP learned about the proposed marriage, he left the TINGs to attend the wedding.

FU Hung Suet met SIT Kwok, son of SIT Bun and came to know about the wedding of YUEN Ching Fung and Miss MA Fong Ling. FU Hung Suet was also prepared to attend the wedding because he thought MA Hung Kwan being the father of the bride would definitely attend the wedding. FU was joined by LO Siu Kai later.… ...

FU Hung Suet could not find MA Hung Kwan in the wedding. He thought that the father of the bridegroom, Master YUEN must have been involved in the assassination of his father and FU killed him accordingly. FU subsequently regretted for the killing of YUEN because he was innocent. Nevertheless later when he realized that LAU Tung Loi was also one of the assassins, he killed LAU as well.

FU could not find Miss CHUI Lun. He began to miss her so much that he got himself drunk for most of his time.

YIP Hoi and Miss TING Ling Lam came to the LAU Manor with a view to finding more details about the assassination. They met a concubine of LAU. She invited them to have tea. While the woman was making tea, YIP discovered that she was not the real concubine but someone in disguise. A fight followed between YIP and the woman. Suddenly the woman died.… ...

FU Hung Suet found himself deeply in love with Miss CHUI Lun. In order not to get her involved in his mission of revenge, he decided to leave her. CHUI was very sad. YIP Hoi and Miss TING Ling Lam thought that FU might have gone to look for SIT Bun. They then set off immediately.

SIT Bun was poisoned by the elder son of TING Sing Fung. Before his death, SIT told FU that FU's father was‧ not a gentleman at all and the assassination they plotted twenty years ago was well justified. FU felt puzzled and upset.

Later FU met YICK Tai King. At first sight, YICK pretended not to know FU's identity and told FU that PAK Tin Yu was a hero and a gentleman who had saved his life. When FU told YICK that he was the descendant of PAK, YICK promised to help FU in his search of MA Hung Kwan.… ...

FU Hung Suet approached Ah Fa, a veteran fighter. The fight was about to take place when YIP Hoi rushed in with "Madman". It turned out that "Madman" was employed by YICK Tai King for framing up a story to deceive FU to challenge Ah Fa who could very likely kill FU.

Later Ah Fa captured YICK. YICK told FU that twenty years ago he was one of the followers of PAK Tin Yu. He both admired and hated PAK because although PAK was charismatic, he used to keep everybody under his tight control. This was the reason why some of PAK's followers had conspired with his enemies for the assassination at the Plum Monastery. YICK felt very mournful and had his legs amputated in recompense for what he had done. Having heard the story FU gave up the idea of killing YICK.

Miss CHUI Lun left the brothel. She was attacked by some bandits but was saved by LO Siu Kai.… ...

The elder son of KWOK Wei sent an invitation to FU Hung Suet. The whole family was subsequently killed by FU.

When TING Sing Fung heard about the death of the KWOKs, he was very scared and was quite prepared to help FU to find out where MA Hung Kwan was. If he did not, he would be the next one to be killed by FU.

FU came to the Plum Monastery where he met a nun. In his confession to the nun, FU felt regretful for having killed some innocent people. The nun then revealed her real identity. She was Lady Peach Blossoms. A fight followed and she died.

Meanwhile LO Siu Kai continued to take care of Miss CHUI Lun. She was very grateful to him.

Some bandits of the Dragon Tiger Pass were making inquiries into the where about of MA Hung Kwan.… ...

When Miss CHUI Lun noticed the landlord's intention to kill FU Hung Suet, she swung her body to protect Fu from the knife. She was seriously injured and died. The landlord was then overpowered by FU. At the moment when the landlord was going to tell. FU who was the mastermind, he was killed by a dart knife. FU noted that the dart knife was of a type similar to that bf YIP Hoi. FU decided to take revenge on YIP.

Miss TING Ling Lam met her brother who told her that Aunt Pak Wan was seriously ill at home. Miss TING fled home but found that it was a lie. Her family did not allow her to get on with YIP Hoi.

MA Hung Kwan began to notice that the bandits of the Dragon Tiger Pass had already discovered his real identity. He therefore used force to subdue the bandits who then came under his control, albeit reluctantly.

Miss TING Ling Lam fled away from her home secretly again.

She met her elder brother and Miss MA Fong Ling.… ...

YIP Hoi arrived and explained to FU Hung Suet that he had not sent anybody to kill Miss CHUI Lun. At this moment bandits from Dragon Tiger Pass also arrived. They offered to FU that they would tell him the where about of MA Hung Kwan if FU promised to kill YIP Hoi. FU did not accept the offer. Both FU and YIP then thought that MA might be in Dragon Tiger Pass. They set off for the Dragon Tiger Pass.

Later MA Hung Kwan discovered that the bandits had planned for a rebellion against him. He was very angry and killed all of them. He then left the Dragon Tiger Pass with Madam SUM. At night they met a stranger who wore in black. The stranger wounded Madam SUM with a dart knife. MA did not come to her rescue. Instead he fled away. The stranger then questioned Madam SUM as to the location of the treasure.

Subsequently FU Hung Suet found Madam SUM. She was dead. FU noted that she was killed by a dart knife similar to that of YIP.… ...

MA Hung Kwan talked to Aunt Pak Wan. The assassination at the Plum Monastery twenty years ago was a plot devised by MA and Aunt Pak Wan. MA said that unless she promised to kill FU, he would make known the secret to the whole world.

FU Hung Suet, YIP Hoi and Miss TING Ling Lam took the gold plate to a goldsmith and found out that it had once been the property of the South Pole family but it had already been given to the TING's family.

YIP met Ah FA who told him that he knew YIP's real identity because YIP's master had told him the secret. YIP came to know that he was the real son of PAK Tin Yu and Princess Flower. He therefore became very concerned with FU Hung Suet who had for twenty years regarded himself the descendent of PAK.

Twenty years ago, Aunt Pak Wan had an affair with PAIL Tin Yu and was pregnant.… ...

FU Hung Suet was quite prepared to kill TING Sing Fung.

TING told him that twenty years ago he was compelled by MA Hung Kwan to participate in the assassination of his father. However LO Siu Kai told FU that TING had not been involved in the actual fighting because TING had been seriously injured well before the Plum Monastery incident.

The TINGS brought MA Hung Kwan to see FU. MA told FU that the principal conspirator was Aunt Pak Wan. Aunt Pak Wan admitted that she was full of rancor against PAK Tin Yu but nevertheless she had already taken some poison and was going to die soon.

YIP Hai arrived and told FU that he was not the son of PAK Tin Yu. After Princess Flower had given birth to a son, she sent the baby to Master LI to learn the skilful art of darting knife. She did not expect her own son to grow up in an environment full' of hatred, vengeance and bloodshed. This baby was YIP Hal himself.… ...
