TSE is the big big boss in both the upper circles and the underworld of Shanghai during its 30's. Today, he is holding a large birthday party for his grandson CHUN. While everybody is enjoying himself, there comes the bad news that CHUN has just been hit down by a car and is now unconscious. They rush him to the hospital but he soon dies. The driver, BOND, is the adopted son of TSE's best friend.

Nevertheless very un-expectedly her fiance is killed in a car accident the day before their marriage. SAM breaks down. CHO pays her special care and concern. SAM is touched and the romance between them sparks off.
