LUNG was a department head of Human Resources Department. He was arrogant because he had the authority to cut down the number of staff. Colleagues hated him very much. LUNG and his friend SZE, who speculated in shares and property, had bought an apartment in Parklane Garden for speculation. They intended to sell it at sixteen million dollars. LUNG’s boss PETER had invited a consultant LAN about cutting down the headcount. LAN proposed to begin at the middle level. SZE’s father POR was an owner of a condiment shop. He was stubborn and always quarreled with SZE. His daughter KAI and her husband pleased him by pretending to be thrifty. LUNG was in a very bad mood. Besides worrying of being fired, he got several summons and BO spent a lot on audio system. LUNG’s mother DAN asked him and BO to live with her. However, LUNG persuaded her to move to his place……

LUNG asked earnestly his boss not to fire him, but finally he was fired. His colleagues made fun of him. SZE told LUNG that he had signed a temporary contract of sell. LUNG hurried to the property agent angrily and tried to destroy it. However, he tore a wrong one and had to compensate a hundred thousand dollars. At night, LING disguised as a girl from a well-to-do family to look for a wealthy husband. The stock and property market dropped sharply. LUNG worried very much. At last, he changed his mind to sell the flat at a lower price. LAN and her husband KWONG was a model couple superficially. In reality, LAN was imperious and dominant. She forced KWONG to run for councilor in an election. A buyer was willing to purchase LUNG’s apartment at fourteen million dollars. However, the property market dropped again and the buyer refused to sign the contract.

LUNG’s car was out of order. KU HON WAN came to tow his car, whom LUNG had met before. LUNG was also surprised that WAN had several part-time jobs. SZE made a profit in speculating future index. He promised to help LUNG repay his installment loan, but he lost finally. LUNG was being dun for debt by bank of three months’ installment. He then realized SZE had withdrawn the money. The price of Parklane Garden was dropped below the mortgage amount, which became a negative asset. He decided to sell his existing apartment for repayment. He looked for SZE and discovered that he had moved. SZE went to Stanley to auction the furniture on street, in order to pay back the money to LUNG. SZE’s mother, TING, knew her son was in economic difficulty, she helped to repay to LUNG. LING brought a buyer to LUNG’s existing apartment. However, LUNG’s part-time maid HING drove them away.

HING bought LUNG’s house and demanded him to move within seven days. LUNG determined to divide the apartment in Parklane Garden into three parts and rented them out. In order not to be discovered by his mother, DAN that he was unemployed, LUNG stayed in his car after sending his brother FUNG to work. However, DAN realized it at last. LAN was very enthusiastic to get more votes for KWONG, but KWONG wasn’t. LAN received a call from the clinic and realized KWONG had a mistress BONNIE who had been pregnant for three months. KWONG proposed to divorce. LAN told KWONG to withdraw from election by pretending sick and handled divorce in low tone.

LING looked for tenants for LUNG. The first tenant was LAN, whom LUNG was reluctant to rent. Another tenant was WAN and his wife SHUM CHUN MEI. The couple tried very hard to let their daughter CHUN studying in a famous school……

KWONG’s withdrawal from election made LAN’s business dropped. LAN was disappointed. DAN drew lots for LUNG, which indicated that his fate was becoming worse. She therefore asked him to live with her. LUNG refused because he would move to Tsing Lung Tau. However, DAN discovered the location was only a refuse station. LUNG was locked outside a balcony by mistake. He hit on the glass door to draw LAN’s attention, but LAN pretended not to see him. SZE started his direct distribution business, hoping to make the first bucket of gold. BO was thinking of some ways to bring LUNG and SZE together. TING asked her friend to rent SZE’s existing house, so that SZE might not discover she was helping him. SZE moved into Parklane Garden.

WAN and MEI spent the weekend with their children in Parklane Garden. They got acquainted with some rich women who could help CHUN go into a famous school……

DAN misunderstood LAN was living with LUNG. She was happy and returned home. LAN’s father HON pointed that LAN should be responsible for the failure of the marriage to a certain extent. LUNG, SZE and BO were having hot pot. WAN and MEI joined without being invited. LUNG was angry.

LAN recalled her days with KWONG. She called him but found that there was a female voice from KWONG’s side. She cut off. She threw away all the toys given by KWONG. LUNG discovered those toys were the ones who had caused his injury previously. He looked for LAN to express his anger. LAN went to the property agent to rent another place. She met KWONG and BONNIE. She tried to slap KWONG but was scolded of not being gentle enough.

By mistake, LAN switched off the main power. It made LUNG’s computer out of power who missed an opportunity of making profit. LAN regretted and helped him to get a job……

Reporters questioned LAN about her marriage and the truth of KWONG’s debt and disappearance. LAN was surprised of KWONG being in debt. Several businesses were put off due to rumor of debt. LAN was miserable. She asked KWONG to hold a press conference to clarify. LUNG secretly went to get products from the distribution company. He met his ex-colleagues and lied that he was doing health food business. LUNG went to LING’s property agent and was ashamed of himself because SZE had good skill of selling products. As told by LAN, KWONG lied that he would leave for Canada to develop his business. In order to move back home, MEI’s brother CHOI and his wife YAN threatened CHUN and CHUI. CHUI therefore brought CHUN to look for their mother. They lost their way, but they met LAN fortunately. Reporters took photos of KWONG and BONNIE when they were buying baby stuff. LAN was angry and decided to divorce.

LAN changed her mind suddenly when she was signing the divorce agreement. She was afraid that the company would be dispersed and her hard work might come to nothing. MEI and WAN were frightened that CHOI might mistreat their children again. They determined to bring them to Parklane Garden. DAN knew from LUNG’s ex-secretary that LUNG was fired. She pressed upon FUNG and BO. BO disclosed that the luxurious apartment had rented out. LUNG’s self-respect was hurt and administration staff of TC Club looked down upon him. He returned home angrily. LAN poured out LUNG’s noodle carelessly. They quarreled. LAN thought over LUNG’s reproof on her, and with HON’s economic support, LAN got divorce with KWONG and bought the other half of share of the company.

SZE was sad after discovering TING helped him pay the rent. He hid in a telephone box and called his ex-girlfriends about his grievances. However, he was neglected. He was drowned in a swimming pool. LUNG saved him. Both of them had a long chat.

LUNG found that CHUI and CHUN had moved into the apartment. He forced them to move. WAN and MEI were depressed. BO told LUNG that there was a letter asking him for a job interview. LUNG knew that it was recommended by LAN, he rejected her favor. Afterwards, he found himself was not suitable for direct distribution. He took back the letter and was seen by BO. SZE met LING in a hair salon. He was shocked by LING’s way of eating tomato. LUNG reported duty. He was astonished that all colleagues were female and also not used to their indolent working attitude. LUNG told SZE about his misery. However, SZE congratulated him because he had regained his self-confidence.

In order to stay at Parklane Garden with CHUN, CHUI challenged LUNG by playing table tennis. LUNG lost but ate his words. Everybody sneered at him. CHUN realized CHUI was missing her, she called him at midnight. LUNG’s colleague MINNIE was sick. LUNG offered to take up her duties. MEI discovered CHUN had not gone to school. She looked for her everywhere, but failed. LUNG drove the car to look for CHUN. He found her finally and intended to sent her home. However, he was being suspected as a swindler by police. LUNG finally agreed to let CHUI and CHUN to stay at his house. LUNG was busy all night in decorating the venue for the next day. SZE and others offered their help, LUNG refused. Early in the morning, LAN realized that LUNG had not completed yet. She helped him to finish the banquet decoration despite of his reluctance. The client appreciated very much, LUNG was grateful. However, his colleague was jealous of him.

LUNG was angry because his colleagues called him as male companion. LAN comforted him. He returned thanks with his homemade sauces.

LING owned debt. She urges DAN and FUNG to buy the new flat so as to get the commission. SZE found that LING was alike his first lover when she was talking over the phone by the window side. He decided to date her. In order to earn extra two hundred thousand dollars, LING pushed up the price. DAN only thought that it was the owner who increased it. SZE invited LING to have hairy crabs and sent her home as she was drunk. He was surprised to see the photo of his first lover FUN at LING's place. SZE suspected that LING was his daughter with FUN. He was sure of it after meeting LING’s grandma who was FUN’s mother.

LUNG had showed his outstanding performance to her female boss. He regained his self-confidence and invited LAN for dinner.

SZE took away the bracing medicine TING had given to KAI and sent to LING. He accompanied her and the client to have a site visit. LING thought he wanted to date her.

LAN got drunk and met LUNG on the street. LUNG brought her home and was bitten by her. LAN woke up and realized that LUNG had sent her home, she changed her impression of him. LING discovered her boyfriend had another girl. She looked for him and was being made fun of. SZE got back justice for her. LING was grateful. LING was drunk, SZE told her that he was her father. LING was shocked. LUNG found LING had pushed up the price secretly. He had to charge her. LING asked SZE to beg a favor from LUNG. LUNG didn’t believe LING was SZE’s daughter and told her to repay within three days. SZE requested him to extend the period. LUNG rejected and they squabbled.

LING discovered CHARLES was a liar. Moreover, she was fired because of pushing up the price……

SZE tried to borrow money from POR. POR rejected. SZE blamed him of having no warm affection. SZE and FUNG got LING by the seaside. She jumped into the sea so as to get LUNG’s sympathy. SZE endangered his life to save her, and was sent to hospital. LUNG and DAN hurried to hospital. DAN ordered LUNG to cancel the charge. MEI and WAN heard that CHOI asking his mother to get a new house. They understood that CHOI would occupy it afterwards. They thought of counter-measure. SZE introduced LING to his family. Everybody was curious. LAN and LUNG were asked to look after CHUI and CHUN. They dined outside and were misunderstood as a family. FAN perceived that LAN’s flat mates were not upper class people. On the other hand, WAN and MEI tried to please her for the sake of CHUI’s future because she was the headmistress of a famous school. LING was suffered from enteritis. SZE and TING worried very much……

KAI’s couple was afraid that LING would replace their position. They tried to remind POR of their importance. However, they worsened it. LUNG suspected LING was not SZE’s daughter. He persuaded him to examine DNA but failed. CHUN was able to enter a famous school. MEI and WAN were very excited. A playboy WING would invest into LAN’s company with a condition that LAN had to listen to him. LAN hesitated. Next day, WING’s wife reproved LAN as a mistress. LUNG persuaded LAN to give up the company and started a new leaf. LAN accepted.

MEI and WAN visited FAN at school. FAN blamed them that it was based on real strength. They then looked for HON.

LING went to condiment shop to help, and brought a lot of business. KAI was unhappy. POR twisted his leg in the morning exercise. LING brought him to see a doctor whom happened to be quite careless. LING scolded him. POR was grateful. LUNG and BO met LING who was shopping with the old couple……

LUNG took LING’s hair for examination and threatened her. It proved that LING wasn’t SZE’s daughter. However, LUNG hesitated to tell the truth after realizing LING had bought an expensive watch for SZE, which was the same as the one he had pawned. On LING’s birthday, KAI brought LING’s grandma to point that LING was not SZE’s daughter. Fortunately, LUNG came to help. LING was impressed. LING had a special feeling towards LUNG. In addition, she discovered LUNG respect love. She decided to date him. LUNG was proud of his charm. LING took an affectionate lunch box to LUNG’s office. LING found that LUNG’s female colleagues did not respect him. She played tricks on them. LAN lost her job to a young lady. LUNG comforted her that she had potentials to look younger. When LAN regained her confidence, LING appeared in a young and passionate look. LAN sighed.

KAM died suddenly, LING was sad. FUN returned from Canada for marriage. LING requested FUN not to disclose she was not SZE’s daughter. SZE met FUN and hoped for a family reunion. SZE took LING to an annual dinner. LING was frightened to know that FUN was having wedding banquet in the next door. SZE was surprised to know FUN was getting married. He scolded her of neglecting him and LING. FUN argued that LING wasn’t his daughter. SZE then understood that he was cheated and left angrily. LING was driven away from POR’s house. She looked for LUNG whom had sympathy on her. SZE met BONNIE in bar. They bet together and won. SZE went home and found that LING was sleeping on LUNG’s bed. He beat LUNG and said that he still treated LING as his daughter. LING was touched. Though POR knew LING wasn’t his grandchild, he treated her the same as before. Furthermore, he told SZE to be LING’s adopted father……

KWONG told LAN that he had separated with BONNIE, and intended to be with her again. BO discovered LUNG and LING were dating secretly. He extorted him and called LING ‘mum’. SZE misunderstood BO was dating with LING. He gave him a lesson. Afterwards, he saw BO with another girl. He reproved him. BO then disclosed that LING’s boyfriend was LUNG. CHUI was selected to be standby in an inter-school quiz competition. A teacher of a famous school asked him to study in his secondary school. LING overheard that SZE was afraid of LUNG would die before her, so nobody would take care of her. She immediately bought insurance for LUNG. LUNG was unhappy to know that his probation had to extend for three months more. LUNG made sauces at home, everybody admired very much. LING encouraged him to start his business.

LAN thought KWONG was nervy after being abandoned by BONNIE. She introduced him to see a doctor. KWONG was angry. LING found that LUNG was still mistreated by the colleagues. She resigned on behalf of him. LUNG decided to start his own business. LAN supported him as well. SZE intended to speculate in stock market again. He met BONNIE in a stockbroker. They bought the share together again and earned. SZE stayed overnight at BONNIE’s place. Next day, SZE was astonished to see BONNIE trying to commit suicide on the rooftop. He then came to know that BONNIE was KWONG’s mistress. Understanding she had no other way out, SZE asked her to stay in one of his properties and speculated together. LUNG secretly sold his homemade sauce to the neighbors. LAN proposed to look for POR’s support. CHUI found that students in those famous schools were very arrogant. He decided to win in the inter-school competition……

WAN discovered CHUI was favored by teachers and classmates, he decided not to change school for him. MEI was angry and returned to mum’s home. LUNG and LAN had set up a tasting counter, which attracted many housewives. POR tried the sauce and decided to support him. LUNG went home to change his clothes before meeting LING. However, he found LAN had fainted and sent her to hospital. They met SZE and BONNIE there. LUNG sent LAN home and cooked noodles for her. LING was distasteful. LUNG took LING for fishing. LING felt boring but she didn’t complain. At dinner, they met SZE and BONNIE. LING warned her not to mistreat SZE. CHOI and YAN cheated his mother MUI to sign an agreement of alienation for the house. Fortunately, MEI was able to stop them. The manager of a supermarket ordered ten thousand bottles of sauces for each month. LUNG and LAN were very excited. POR promised to lend them a production line……

BONNIE secretly sold the shares and speculating in margins. At last, she lost. She left because she didn’t want to burden SZE. Meanwhile, SZE revealed his love to her. BONNIE was touched. POR discovered SZE had re-mortgaged his flat and repaid eight hundred thousand dollars to a financial company. He fainted and was sent to the hospital. KAI then took this pportunity to refuse borrowing the production line. LUNG and LAN were distressed. LUNG was troubled with his sauce business and quarreled with LING. LAN suggested that they might dissolve the problem in Shenzhen. They went there together. LING told FUNG about her grievance. FUNG comforted her. LUNG and LAN failed to get help from Shenzhen, but they started to develop strange feelings for each other. TING and LING watched news from TV that BONNIE delivered in a bus. They immediately went to hospital to look for SZE. LAN realized that she had misunderstood KWONG being nervy……

LING felt that LUNG was not suitable for her. When she was watching movie with FUNG, she had love feeling for him. FUNG also revealed his love. POR recognized SZE was more down to earth. He determined to co-operate with LUNG and asked SZE to supervise the production. LUNG and LAN quarreled because DAN urged LUNG to marry LING. BO did not understand. FUNG and LING told LUNG that they were in love. LUNG was depressed but LAN was happy. SZE’s production line had used old cans by mistake. POR scolded him. BONNIE felt it was unfair for SZE. She told POR that somebody had set SZE up. MUI sold the house. After giving the money to CHOI and MEI, she disappeared. They looked for her everywhere. MEI was very angry that WAN and CHUI joined forces to reject CHUI's studying at a famous school. POR announced that SZE would manage the condiment business. KAI rejected. Then POR disclosed that she had set SZE up……
