The Movie Database Support

Initially I had made this comment in this thread https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/1855-star-trek-voyager/discuss/629bbd157ad08c4e66ae3bbb but think its probably best to open this up to a wider discussion.

This newspaper page also confirm that there was one single episode broadcasted on that day.

I'd like to question and voice my objection to these changes and the other changes being reported for various star trek spin offs.

It seems that certain folks are reporting what they consider issues so they can match the running order based on the DVD order of the show. The use of news articles written by journalist who have no affiliation to the show or the tv network airing the initially broadcast is flawed. As journalist writing the article its just THEIR opinion its a single episode. Its my opinion and many others that they are two episodes which aired after each other. The episodes have different production codes and the fact they aired after each other should IMO take precedence over news articles.

I would also suggest at this point the bible be updated to state something along these lines that if multi-part episodes are aired BACK to BACK that TMDB consider these a single episode. This is what is happening with various other edits recently (see friends as an example) and I suggest TMDB just make this a rule and be done with it if that is the direction TMDB wants to go.

It seems that you didn't look at the newspaper page.

This is not a news article written by a journalist, but the TV schedule. When 2 episodes air back to back, there are 2 separate entries in the TV schedule

And, even if its not an official source, Wikipedia indicate "It was originally shown May 23, 2001, on the UPN network as a double-length episode and later presented as such in DVD collections, but it is shown in syndicated broadcasts as a two-part story. ". Furthermore, this episode has one single production code.

Concerning the Friends edits, they were done based on archives of the official site, not based on news articles.

I sense it'll be an endless debate so I'll just accept the way its going to be.
