There is a tv show that is sold on DVD, but it is listed in the Movies section. The titles I'm referring to can be found here.

These are TV show episodes, not movies, but it belongs to the Movies section because it's on DVD?

<movie></movie>
to<episodedetails></episodedetails>
8. change<premiered></premiered>
to<aired></aired>
9. Create a tvshow.nfo. You can use the template here... https://kodi.wiki/view/NFO_files/TV_shows 10. Run an Update Library to scan them in.Reply by lufrewop

Ok, so I definitely have to say this as I've literally been at this for 7+ hours trying to get this to work -- I have been scratching my head, continually typing Tom and Jerry Tom and Jerry Tom and Jerry, and not getting the file to show up in the the TV Show section. I was so close to giving up, but I refused to allow this tv show to enter my Movies section, so I stuck with it and kept trying. I eventually cracked the code. It was so simple; I kept naming the file "Tom and Jerry" when I was supposed to name it "Tom and Jerry S01E01". As soon as I added S01E01, the file appeared in my TV Show Section. How could I have not thought of that sooner -- I was beyond excited and relieved.
I added banner.jpg, fanart.jpg, and poster.jpg, and the pictures work seamlessly, going to their respective places. My last issue is putting the cover art on the episodes. When I click the show to go to the episode list, they're all blank. I tried renaming a picture with the exact title of an episode but it doesn't work. But after all I been through I'm just about satisfied with how things turned out.

I just figured out how to add thumbnails for the episodes.
VideoName.mp4
VideoName-thumb.jpg
I'm a happy man. Thanks again.

Yes, that is correct. You can check naming of artwork in the wiki here... https://kodi.wiki/view/TV-Show_artwork
The two images (one for the tv show, the other for episodes) on the page should be pretty clear how and where to save the artwork.
The tv show folder is named Tom & Jerry but, as you discovered, each episode needs to have a season and episode number so Kodi knows how to list it. The SxxExx format is all that is needed to accomplish this.
Remember the tvshow.nfo is actually named tvshow.nfo. So many people try to change it to the name of the show like "tom&jerry.nfo" which is wrong.
You should head over to the Kodi forums next time you get stuck.
