I'm adding an entry for a pilot that never went to series featuring several notable people. The only images I can find are almost all rather low-quality and/or horizontal. I feel like I need to add a poster, but there was never a poster made for the show. Would it be wrong to use a cropped screen capture from the actual episode? Even then, it would be too low quality. I'm tempted to add a black border around it, but I'm assuming that would not be correct form on here.

The full/detailed answer to your situation/questions can be found in the contribution bible, or specifically in this section: https://www.themoviedb.org/bible/image

But basically the short answer to all your questions I believe is yes, it would be wrong. And no, you do not need to add a poster if there is no poster available or there never was one- its okay and preferrable to have no images over bad images.

However, I am not a mod, so mods, if I am mistaken please correct any part or all of what I have said.

EDIT: Also, guessing from your questions I would venture to say you might not have read the guidelines about pilots, so I think you should read up on it to correctly add information (or whether your pilot should even be added in the first place): https://www.themoviedb.org/bible/new_content/59f792cd9251413e93000004#5a6a6a919251416d74000001

Two moderators approved of your reply, @tmdb24407783, so I think the topic can be closed. I should add that adding black borders is always a big no for us. If you have any further questions @ekrons you can always re-open. Thanks.

I have read the guidelines regarding pilots and regarding images. As far as I can tell, just don’t mention what to do when there was never An officially-released poster. The pilot was leaked online by the creator so it seems to be something worthy of adding, but I just wasn’t sure about the lack of a poster.
