i can't figure out how to get any poster or backdrops from the API
In order for someone to help you with API Request questions, it is critical that you post here the API Request you are using. Remember to replace your Key with THE_KEY , or something like that.
You can request that the poster data come with the general data. Or you can order only the posters. There are two different API requests. See here https://developers.themoviedb.org/3/movies/get-movie-images
Make sure to take a read through the docs that outline how to build a valid image request.
