Getting movies within a specific release date

I want to get movies released within a specific date. What I am doing...

https://api.themoviedb.org/3/discover/movie?api_key=<key>&language=en-US&sort_by=release_date.desc&page=1&release_date.gte=2017-12-31&release_date.lte=2020-1-1&with_genres=16%2C35

But I get empty list.

The problem is the date format.
It has to be YYYY-MM-DD
Two digits for month and day.
2020-01-01
