The Movie Database Support

 Ongoing Maintenance

Dear TMDb Community,

In the next few months, you might notice some changes on our site. My primary goal is, and always has been, to build the best media database on the internet and in order for me to stay true to that goal, we will be making these changes to enable TMDb to be more robust and reliable than before.

As you might recall from my 2019 recap, I have some pretty amazing plans for 2020 so stay tuned for some really fantastic launches this year!

Hello! This is my first post, so my apologize if this doesn’t follow the rules or the guidelines as well as it should be. Feel free to delete or educate me and I will update his post.

Now this request might be a nightmare to implement, but it was wondering if we could get a Network endpoint for Movies like we do with TV Shows.

For example, with the API v3 we can do a query for with_networks with the ID 213 for every show created by Netflix. This would be amazing if I could do the same thing for movies.

I think this would be very useful as many streaming services are coming out with their own original movies (such as Netflix Originals, Amazon original movies, Hulu, Shudder, etc).

Note: I am not looking for currently available movies from streaming services, just original broadcast.

Thank you in advance!

Ya, I'm not sure if "network" is the right name for this... but I'm also wondering if release data just got smarter (say with the ability to tie it to networks/something else...) if that would fit the bill here. That way our release data gets a natural lift and you could do things like "Find me all of the Neflix releases".

Is that along the lines of what you were thinking?

Yeah that will totally work. “Find me all of the Netflix (or Hulu/Amazon/insert network) releases” is essentially the end goal 😄

Ok, cool. I've created a new ticket to track this idea here. You can watch/vote for it which helps me prioritize work.

Sweet, I appreciate that!
