The Movie Database Support

Since the "y: ####" year filter search works then why not code the search to work that way by default? A simple string search for "(" and ")" gives you beginning and end string positions and what's left, in-between, is the year. Most of the time that I do a search it's always with the Title and Year, "Blade Runner (1982)", but on tmdb I get "No Results" and have to backspace out the year or edit-out the "( )"and edit-in the "y" parameter. It would make searches a lot more user-friendly.
