Sorry to bother you, but I'm confused. There was a TV series, but then, later, two TV (?) movies based on the series: Afro Samurai; and Afro Samurai: Resurrection. So wouldn't the movie be separate from the TV series?
Isn't the site a base for movies and tv? And let this film be a shortened version of the series, it was officially released by the same studio, why it does not have the right to exist on the site? For example, I did not watch the series, but I saw and marked the film, and now, what should I do to add the series to the ones I’ve watched? Not to mention the fact that someone's work on creating and filling this page was useless. I thought that the wider the base of the site, the better, the more terrible that such films would not be on the site. In the end, not everyone wants to spend time on the show when there is a more convenient movie format.
It may seem odd that a movie that is an edited version of a TV series, and not necessarily identical in content (thus not strictly a duplicate), doesn't have it's own movie page. But IMDb appears to have the same policy, so I guess it's a fairly standard rule. Maybe a database overhead issue?
I don’t think that you need to be very focused on IMDB, everything is far from perfectly organized there. For example, some series are presented as multiple pages of individual episodes, but the pages of the series themselves may not be.
For example, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson (1980), which is on TMDB, in the form of the main page, while on IMDB they created a bunch of pages of different episodes, but did not bother to create the main one.

You mean the TV-entry I presume: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/19544-afro-samurai
(Edit: I noticed now that a movie duplicate of the TV-entry was recently deleted. So that should answer your question. Thanks. Closing topic.)

The Afro Samurai movie was also known as Afro Samurai: the Movie.

The sequel (Resurrection) is fine, but Afro Samurai: the Movie is an edited version of the miniseries (and we don't support alternative versions).

I'm not "focused on IMDB," but this site does seem to follow a lot of their conventions rather than reinventing everything.
I'm not sure what you mean. Can you give a specific example/link?

It is recommended to read the guidelines first: https://www.themoviedb.org/bible/new_content/59f792cd9251413e93000004 There is some work planned to support alternative versions of films in the future, but I'm not aware of any concrete plans for alternative version of TV entries.
