The Movie Database Support

I do understand that the current main lists the shows via Fox's original air dates. I do realize some people may want to see them out-of-order just like Fox aired them. But with DVD and now Blu-Ray being our source material, it seems a person would have to tediously name each and every episode so as to make it work in Kodi. I see that there is "Production Dates" and "DVD Order". Could someone teach me how to take advantage of these please? I currently use TVDB for TV shows, but am willing to use TMDB for TV shows if I could understand how to use it. I currently use Kodi. I just need to now how to name folders and files in order to get Kodi to use the DVD order. I'm guessing the "Production Order" won't work as a moderator in another thread mentioned that Kodi doesn't use "groups". I will admit that I have no clue what an Episode Group even is..... TIA for any/all replies
