When a film is presented at a festival, such as Cannes or Sundance, what kind of Release Date should I use? Premiere?
I suppose it's not Theatrical (limited).

Yes, premiere indeed! :)

So any and all festival screenings (that aren't test screenings, press screenings, private screenings, etc...) should use "premiere"?

Yup! All festival screenings, including non-premiere screenings, should have "premiere" as the type of release.

Okay, cool.

Before, I was a little confused by, the following in the Release Dates section, under "Type" and the sub heading "Premiere":

"Tip: Premiere festival screenings are often marked as world/international/[continent]/[country] premiere on the festival's website."

I thought that meant only festival screenings that are premiere festival screenings count as premiere type release dates- and that all other festival screenings are not to be added (since they don't fall into any other "type" category).
