The Movie Database Support

Search by IMDB id i.e. I could just put in "tt0076759" and it would find Star Wars (1977).

I have the exact same request. This would make movies MUCH easier to identify on my Zappiti player

What does tt0076759 mean?

Its in the external id section so it might not be too hard to fix that _^ i know it has been requested before though.

Hi @leethompson,

I'm not sure about hooking up a specific IMDb search, it's possible that one day a general external ID search could exist as part of some kind of a advanced search. That way all of our supported external ids are supported. Our API has this.

In the meantime you can use the redirect path if you want. It looks like this:

https://www.themoviedb.org/redirect?external_source=imdb_id&external_id=tt2250912

That is an IMDB (Internet Movie Database) ID.
