Extra Details: Given that this premiered in 2016 and the premiere date is listed in the Release Information (https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/413765-david-lynch-the-art-life/edit?active_nav_item=release_information), shouldn't the year display 2016 instead of 2017?

But doesn't this classification system ignore (or rather obscure) the year when the film was officially completed? It also makes film listings here differ nominally from IMDB, MUBI or Letterboxd, which all prioritise premiere or completion date. It seems a little confusing to have a different standard, especially if you're trying to cross-reference databases or search for films using Title + Year.
