I have transferred my ratings & watch list to this site from imdb but is it possible to transfer all my other lists from imdb to here? Rated, favorite & watchlist are the only three options I can see... am i missing something?

No, you're not missing something. This feature isn't implemented, yet - but it's on the list for the (near?) future. It depends on the priority of how much people want this feature, and of course on how much work it is to implement it. I think Travis can/will answer to you about that.

Best wishes,

I'll be working it this week.

Thanks for this feature. Unfortunately it reported numerous titles as not found, so presumably there are movies/shows not indexed here yet, or an import bug. Since it only listed the tt# and not the title from the import file, I don't know if there was a pattern to what sorts of things weren't found.

There are no doubt items we don't have in our db, yes. We do not sync with IMDb; everything here has been manually added by our users over the years.

Just wanted to say that I'd really like such feauture. wink It would be awesome to import all those ratings from imdb. Don't feel like spending much time there anymore after the board closure.

I'm getting used to this new database site. Hopefully this gains massive audience. relaxed

@Deer1 Which feature are you wanting specifically?

Importing my movie ratings from Imdb. Unless its already possible?

Already exported the ratings list. sunglasses

It is possible! Click "Import List" from your account page. thumbsup

Now this was a really nice surprise. Much appreciated. sunglasses

Is it possible to add a title color feature for every list? For example all movies in the ratings list should highlighted green, all movies in watch list should highlighted red and so on ... It helps me a lot when looking for new and unwatched movies.

I using a userscript called "IMDb My Movies enhancer" which can do this for IMDb list. So it would be great to get something similar for TMDB.

@sonic00 Are you referring to misc. pages around as you browse around TMDb? Most pages/items will show the 3 standard icons (star, bookmark icon, and heart) and will highlight in their color if it's true for your account (ie. rated, or on your watchlist).

Hi Travis, yeah I know the feature u already have implement. Its good, but not as efficient I like it to be. For example, if I go to a actor page and look at his movies, I like to see directly what movies of him I watched and what I haven't. You can see in the picture below a screenshot from IMDb (Actor Brad Pitt) with the userscript I mentioned before.

You can see, that all the green highlighted movies are rated by me, so they are in the ratings list. All red highlighted movies are upcoming movies of him I like to see and they are in a list called "upcoming", all the orange/yellow highlighted movies are movies which are already aired and I put it in my watch list.

So, if I in the mood for a Brad Pitt movie I haven't seen yet but like to, I look at his page and directly have a overlook about all that info and can pick a orange/yellow highlighted movie.

I can see this highlights in every webpage (search, news, coming soon etc. pp.)

Also it would be very helpful it we can I have "list view" with some tags like IMDb offers, where we could delete and move titles around the lists:

As you can see, I sorted my upcoming movie list by ratings. So I a movie has >1000 ratings I move it to the watch list - it very easy.

These are just some thoughts, maybe some of it can be implement in your site.

I must be being a muppet... what you've said here is exactly what the offical FAQ says too. Yet I see no link on my account page that has anything to with importing anything. Is it deprecated?

Can you enter this import page, which is on your profile?
https://www.themoviedb.org/settings/import-list
What do you see on this page?
I see:

  • a dropdown to choose where you want to import
  • a button to find on your computer the list you want to import
  • and a red button to perform the import
