Is a movie added to the list of changes when a main poster / backdrop is added?

Is a movie added to the list of changes when a main poster / backdrop is added?
To clarify: when a new movie is first added it usually does not have a poster image. When a poster is added in the future, is this change recorded in the API 'movie changes'?

Thanks Travis. I asked because I noticed lots of new movies are missing a poster image in my db. I guess I must be doing something wrong somewhere with the updates.
