After Jake Tilton is given a mystical "monkey's paw" talisman that grants its possessor three wishes, he finds his world turned upside down after his first two wishes result in his malevolent coworker, Tony Cobb, being resurrected from the dead. When Cobb pressures Jake into using the final wish to reunite Cobb with his son, his intimidation quickly escalates into relentless murder - forcing Jake to outwit his psychotic friend and save his remaining loved ones.

Adaptation of the classic

After being evicted, a family in serious financial difficulties moves into a tenement next to a cemetery. As soon as they settle in, they meet the neighboring couple who, upon learning of the financial problems of the newcomers, offer them a pact to be made through a magical amulet: the monkey paw.

Mr.White, their wife and son, receive the visit of a person that possesses a monkey's paw with magic powers: it grants three desires. But the monkey's paw has the power of demonstrating that the destination governs the life of the men and that nobody can oppose without receiving a hideous punishment.

The White family await their guest. Sergeant-Major Morris has just returned from serving in India.He carries a cursed monkey's paw. It can grant the owner three wishes. Is it magic? A curse? Or pure coincidence?

A couple dreams that a magic paw returns their dead son.

"The Monkey's Paw", a short story by W.W. Jacobs is acted out by local talents in WSKG's studio for this 2013 Expressions Halloween Special. The story tells of a family who didn't realize that their wishes could have unintended consequences. The actors are from Southern Tier Actors Read (S.T.A.R).
