Lorsque des rumeurs sur des élèves ayant joué au hitori Kakurenbo (sorte de cache-cache seul avec un fantôme) se propagent au lycée, Shiori ne peut plus rejoindre son frère aîné Motoya. En se rendant à l'appartement qu'il est censé habiter, elle a trouvé une pièce vide. Mais un forum internet exhumé sur l'ordinateur de son frère la laisse penser que la disparition de ce dernier pourrait bien être liée à ce sordide jeu de cache-cache. Malgré les tentatives de son petit ami Noboru et de ses efforts pour rassurer son amie Yuko, Shiori commence à être convaincue qu'il veut aussi quelque chose et essaie de le retrouver. Elle va alors se tourner vers Shiraishi, une ancienne camarade de classe de son frère, pour tenter de comprendre ce qui se passe et rendre Motoya.

A blog on a mysterious website quickly spreads like wildfire, starting a dangerous online game. At 3:00 in the afternoon, a teddy bear stuffed with rice and nails is sunk into a bathtub. The lights go out and the player is required to stab the bear with the knife, then write their experiences in the blog. But lately the comments have taken a dark, demented turn, as if the players are being possessed.

Hitori Kakurenbo in Japanese refers to an urban legend ritual that is meant to summon a ghost or other spirit into ones home. As early as July 2007, descriptions of how to play One-Man Hide and Seek were posted on Japanese horror bulletin boards. The instructions tell the reader to fill a bathtub with stuffed animals, turn off all of the lights and chant ritualistic phrases while holding a knife. It asserted that people who had done this found that the toys had moved slightly and the television had turned on, blaring music. This is a story of a young woman playing this game, and the events that happened to her during the night. This chilling account of the supernatural, will keep the audience at the edge or their seats and have them wondering would they dare to play this game.

Sakura Kurata and Kosuke Tsukamoto are members of the movie club at their high school. They then organize a movie shoot which which revolves around the urban legend and occult game "hide-and-seek alone". The game involves a ritual with a doll to contact the dead. The students persuade a teacher to allow them to shoot the movie at midnight in the school. The students begin their film, but they soon experience a lot more than they expected.

One day, Rika, a college student who tended to stay at home in her apartment, saw a "Hitori Hide-and-Seek" website on the Internet and became interested in the game. Late at night, Rika played "Hitori Hide-and-Seek" and experienced a horrifying experience...! She experiences a terrible fear..!

The next day, she commits suicide in front of her cousin who visits her room.

At a giant beachside mansion, Pikachu and some of its buddies decide to play a game of hide-and-seek. Pikachu is “it,” and it goes off in search of its friends. Meanwhile, Larvitar, sick of being all by itself, kicks a rock in anger. The rock hurtles through the air—and hits a lawnmower, turning it on and sending it tearing off after Pikachu and its friends! The group draws the lawnmower into a maze and even gets it into the water, but the lawnmower just keeps on chasing. The Pokémon build a road out of logs, hoping to get the lawnmower into a shack, but Psyduck trips and ruins the whole setup. How will the friends ever escape the lawnmower? Shoichi, a Japanese male nurse living in the city, returns home to the countryside after his mother's sudden death to deal with younger brother Kotaro, who hasn't left his room in over a decade. However, disappointment from the local bureaucracy leads Shoichi to a radical decision.

Aya, Nozomi, and Akane, who met in a chat room, playfully perform a séance called "Hitori Kakurenbo". During the game, Nozomi becomes possessed and dies a cruel death.
