Against the background of a white wall, Luyken films two performances. The images are interspersed with one another: a man and a woman are painted with white paint, while another couple is wrapped in paper and coloured with paint. The second part of the film also consists of a performance. This time, Luyken works with life-sized, cartoon-like fantasy figures. Eventually they are numbered and wrapped in white paper.
A side table and a chest of drawers (played by actors in ingenious soft-sculpture costumes) indulge in a bit of passive-aggressive furniture moving. Do you know what your household decor is up to when you’re not looking? Another characteristically eccentric bit of humor from Dutch filmmaker Sietske Tjallingii, aka "Miss T."

In Entr'acte II the walls come tumbling down. The wheels come off the wagon: Thunder, Lightning, Explosive meditations. Everything seems to be happening at once. Then, before you can catch your breath, it's over.
An animation which lifts off and proceeds with the delicacy of a soap bubble. Conceived as a tiny interlude between longer films: a chance to catch one's breath after and before more aggressive works, a "time out" period for the mind to float effortlessly and free of gravity.
