Full of endless energy, Malik, Zadie and Zeke run, bounce, roll and romp, always on the lookout for interesting Treeborhood problems to solve. Malik is thoughtful, considerate and sometimes set in his ways (which can be a good thing when you’re problem-solving). His speedy, adventurous younger sister, Zadie, is a brainstormer extraordinaire, with ideas that range from silly to very smart. Zeke is the youngest sibling — a funny, curious cuddle-bug who loves to play and explore. Super, their grandmother, is the Superintendent and unofficial “Mayor” of the Treeborhood.

Close to the cool highlands of the Snowy Mountains in South East Australia, lies an enchanted secret world where a group of very special creatures make their home. Shy and elusive, the common wombat may appear to be hidden from view – but the quiet wood is alive with scenes of marsupial friendship, new life, burrow hopping, and wombat disagreements.

Wombat was an award-winning Australian children's TV show produced at BTQ Channel 7 in Brisbane from 1979 to 1990. It was aired on weekday afternoons, and later Saturday and Sunday mornings, across Australia.

The show had a number of hosts who were accompanied by Agro, a puppet played by Jamie Dunn. The show consisted of small educational editorials presented in a variety of segments. The segments featured a number of regular reporters including Eric Summons, Fiona MacDonald, Bob La Castra, identical twins Gayle & Gillian Blakeney, Rob Elliott, Tony Gordon and Gary Hardgrave. The program also included children as regular reporters including Scott Sutherland, Pippa? Some of these reporters performed double duty as host of the show, notably Bob La Castra and Gayle & Gillian Blakeney. Other regular guests included: Laurel Edwards, Michael Futcher, Stacey Thompson, Ashley Wilkie, Kristine Davis, Jill Ray & Glenn Hansen.

The show received four consecutive Logie Awards for "Most Popular Children's Program" from 1987 to 1990. In addition, Agro won a Penguin Award from the Television Society of Australia.

Some of the cast went on to appear in Totally Wild. Agro also went on to host Agro's Cartoon Connection and The Super Sunday Show.

From the ashes of Australia’s devastating bushfires, wildlife survivors begin their long journeys to recovery. Australia’s fauna have evolved to coexist with bushfire, but these Black Summer fires are unprecedented in their scale, speed and intensity. Many native animals are unable to escape, or endure, without human help. We follow iconic species like koalas, kangaroos, wombats, and an endangered parrot through their rescue, rehabilitation and eventual release. Remarkable tales of compassion and dedication are revealed along the way – from an orphan wombat growing too attached to her carer, to audacious helicopter airdrops to feed remote rock wallabies. When the fires finally burn out, Australia looks to the science, innovation and Indigenous knowledge that will be needed to safeguard fragile wildlife in an even hotter future.
