American double Grammy winner Kurt Elling and British reggae jazz-funk legend Carroll Thompson join arranger and conductor Guy Barker and his orchestra for the spectacular opening concert of the 30th EFG London Jazz Festival. Jumoké Fashola hosts the rousing celebration of the power of the human voice raised in song, as showcased by eight of the very best jazz vocalists around. Broadway sensation Marisha Wallace, alt country blues singer-songwriter Amythyst Kiah, Noisettes frontwoman Shingai, award-winning Welsh singer Ian Shaw, and emerging artists Dana Masters and Mica Millar complete an exciting line-up at the Royal Festival Hall.
