A comedy tale of two thick friends, one Musilm and the other a Hindu, their misadventures to save their face from a strict Haji.

Abdullah, absolute monarch of a wealthy Middle Eastern country, has everything a man could want. Everything, that is, until he falls for a beautiful model. She rejects his advances, however, along with his offers of riches and luxury, chosing instead an officer in the king's army as her lover. As all of this is going on, the ruler is oblivious to the growing discontent among his subjects, and the threat of revolt that is increasing with each passing day.

Considering that Musakov’s Abdulladzhan (1991) was dedicated to Steven Spielberg, we might suggest that these four boys embody nothing more complicated than a conflict of youthful innocence with some ominous threat—the basic workings of E.T. (1982) or War of the Worlds (2005), say. That threat, however, is best understood not through vague nationalism or warmed-over socialism, but through the other reference-point of Abdulladzhan—Tarkovskii’s Stalker (1980). Musakov leaves his boys in a simplified radiance so bright and so overexposed that it no longer looks like the skies of sunny Tashkent, but a disturbing, borderless luminosity to match the flat tonal range of Stalker’s “Zone.” Our Uzbek boys are nowhere in particular; this is a broader domain than anything international.

The story follows Abdullah (Mohanlal) who is hired by the members of a wealthy royal family to assassinate the family head Maharaja Udayavarma (Nedumudi Venu). Abdullah comes into the royal palace under the disguise Ananthan Namboothiri, a classical singer, and tries to use this mask to softly kill the Maharaja.

Alibaba was a simple, hardworking, middleclass personality who once went to a forest for some purpose. When he entered into that forest he found a deep secret, a formula to enter a cave. Actually that cave was filled by robbed jewelleries and gold coins. He took some with him and became very rich. But those robbers realised that something was missing from their hidden treasures. So they began their investigation for the lost treasure. But in the meantime a neighbour of Alibaba also tried for the same thing but he got caught and killed by the robbers. After that the robbers had successfully traced those hidden treasures, entered the city and found Alibaba. But Marjina and Abdullah understand their plans and caught them by their sheer intelligence and wit.

Abdullah has to fight oppression and torture as he tries to bring up the boy as a hindu where the majority are muslims.
