Tamaki's (Iwashita) husband is the head of the Idei clan, based in southern Osaka. As the film opens, punch-permed lieutenant Ginji (Riki Takeuchi) is killed while pumping iron. Following the hit, rumors and recriminations abound, slowly corroding the clan's cohesion. Ginji, it turns out, was mired in debt. After Ginji borrowed a small fortune to build a luxury resort, his bank went belly up and stopped financing the loan. Frantic for funds, he decided as a last resort to rat out his boss who had skimmed five-billion yen from the gang. Soon everyone assumes that Idei did the hit. Convinced that Idei is being framed, Tamaki sets out to find the real killer.

A man is waiting alone in a snow-covered house deep in the mountains. the woman was supposed to meet him days before but she hasn't arrived and the man waits on, believing that the woman will still come. As the hours pass the man's mind slips in and out of reality as he fantasises on her and her sexuality. His body grows numb from the cold and he begins to drift from reality to a dream world where his imagination knows no limits.

Oshichi (Setsuko Ogawa), the daughter of a green grocer, is only seventeen years old but is known as one of the most beautiful girls in Edo. She is betrothed to Sakubei (Tatsuya Hamaguchi) but does not love him. One day, the whole city is flooded by one of the worst rain storm in its history. Oshichi, and her parents are given shelter at a temple where she meets Kichisaburo (Ryuji Mori), a young priest. It is love at first sight for both of them. The storm finally abates. Oshichi's parents decide to return to their home on the following day. That night, Oshichi gladly gives herself to Kichisaburo but they are found by her mother who warns them never to divulge their secret. Learning that her plan to move up the date of her marriage to the rich pawnbroker's son, Oshichi feels that she can never be united with Kichisaburo unless she takes things into her own hands.

The small fishing village was polluted by the construction of the factory, and the fishermen were absorbed by the factory manager, Nojima. If you take the satchel with you and go to a particular lighthouse, you will be able to meet a person who has died one last time for a short duration, until the smell of the satchel fades away. She hands him this fragrance satchel.
