Our film will explore how one small mountain community has attempted to walk the line between development and conservation; growth and sustainability. This struggle, however, is not specific to Crested Butte, Colorado, it is a constant challenge for small towns across North America. In making this film, we are attempting to do our part, not only to conserve a piece of American history, but also to educate and inform future generations to come.

Footage of her interview is intercut with scenes from Peckinpah's movies and the landscape of the area of California where he grew up. Fern Lea draws parallels between members of the Peckinpah family and characters in Peckinpah's 1962 feature, "Ride the High Country."

To help achieve his dream, he wants to become elected as his school's student council president. The elected student president receives privileges and a better chance for promotions later in the political & bureaucrat world. A power struggle takes place surrounding the student election.

Eastman narrates, describing the challenges they face living in the arctic and the bonds they form with the wild animals. A wildlife cameraman raises three wolves in the Yukon. Trappers who hear of the wolves try to kill them for the hides. This film served as a follow-up to Eastman's grizzly bear film, High, Wild and Free.
