Multiple Grammy Award winner, Norah Jones, plays an exclusive sold-out show at the world-famous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London. This wonderfully intimate live performance film sees Jones return to the piano, accompanied on stage by drummer Brian Blade and bassist Chris Thomas to form a classic jazz trio. World-famous jazz club Ronnie Scott’s hosts a tribute to Burt Bacharach - a songwriter, producer and pianist who us widely seen as one of the most important songwriters of the 20th century. Clive Myrie is at the show, which features brand new jazz-inspired arrangements of some of Burt Bacharach’s best-loved music by the club’s artistic director James Pearson. The setlist spans Burt Bacharach’s epic career and includes The Look of Love, Alfie, Wives and Lovers, Do You Know the Way to San Jose and That’s What Friends Are For.

Ronnie Scott’s opened in 1959 to provide a place where British Jazz musicians could jam. Eventually, American music musicians such as Johnny Griffin, Roland Kirk, Al Cohn, Stan Getz, Sony Stitt, Benny Golson, Donald Byrd, and Ben Webster played at the club making it the legendary Jazz club it is today. Today, the club still books the greatest Jazz acts in the world, but also plays host to such diverse musicians as the talented Nina Simone. This film features Nina Simone (vocals, piano) delivering an intense emotional performance at the legendary Ronnie Scott’s in Soho, London on November 17, 1985. Simone is an eclectic musician, who adds a soulful mystique to whatever material she interprets. This brilliant performance at Ronnie Scott’s is testament to this fact.

Chet Baker plows a uniquely individual furrow in the field of jazz. His trumpet playing is beautifully delicate and takes standard ballads into hitherto unexplored emotional territories. Here Chet is accompanied by Michel Grailler on piano and Riccardo del Fra on bass. Two of Chet's admirers also guest star here: Van Morrison and Elvis Costello.

Chris Robinson apparently collapsed from "exhaustion" after this 'secret' acoustic show at London's famous jazz club, Ronnie Scott's. The group returned to the US, cancelling their pending tour dates. Anyone with even a passing interest in the band or the genre should check this out, as this is one of those truly great moments in Rock & Roll, documenting the period when the band shed the regimented sound of their debut album and settled comfortably into what they really were - a highly proficient and genuine rhythm and blues outfit.

Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers were the quintessential "hard bop" ensemble, rooted in the core elements of Swing and Blues. As jazz became more prevalent and expansive, the characteristic "hard bop" of the Messengers became accepted as the global definition for Jazz music. Art Blakey, its eldest and most eloquent exponent was its master. This brilliant performance at Ronnie Scott's in London from February 21st 1985 is testament to this fact.
