A documentary about Dutch singer Ramses Shaffy

Follow a young archer and his general lead the Egyptian army to victory against the powerful Suppiluliuma, King of the Hittites. As he fights to save Egypt, the archer eventually becomes a hero in this animated feature.

Thirty-four year old Ramsès has established himself as a clairvoyant in La Goutte d’Or, Paris. A shrewd manipulator and something of a poet, he built a sound business consoling people. Elusive and dangerous youths, freshly arrived from the streets of Tangier, disrupt his business and the whole neighbourhood. Until the day Ramses has an actual vision.

A love story begins between Isabel, the daughter of the French governor of Rosetta, and the Egyptian Selim, so her father sends her to France, where she resorts to a Moroccan sorcerer to bring her Selim. The sorcerer gives her a box of drugs and asks her to send it to Selim so that he can use it to come to France, but Selim is arrested. Time passes, and someone finds the box in the modern era.

In a certain moment, after the revolution that burst in Egypt in 2011 demanding the fall of Mubarak the man on top of the authority back then, Amr Bayoumi, the director, remembers that he documented the journey of the statue of Ramses II with his personal camera in 2006. The journey was from the Ramses square, one of the largest squares in Cairo, to his new place on the grand Egyptian Museum. It was the biggest transfer process Cairo streets ever witnessed, a journey that took over 12 hours in the charming Cairo atmosphere. Amr is inspired by this journey to tell the story of the relation between the authority and the people, and his personal relation with his father who was a symbol of superior authority in his youth.
