Enigmatic singer-songwriter Nick Drake, a gifted artist who died tragically at age 26, left behind a musical legacy and considerable posthumous fame. This documentary seeks to uncover some of the mystery behind his brilliant but brief career. Drake's work is remembered through rare performance clips, photos and interviews with those who knew him best, revealing an astonishing insight into his music and his lasting influence.

The documentary follows Nick's career, his personal rise, fall and the cult that continues to grow after his death. As this is told through personal recollection with no experts or celebrity fans, it is not a tribute but a film about memory and friendship.

Filmed at the Barbican in January 2010 and curated by Joe Boyd, producer and general champion of Nick Drake, 90 minutes of performance highlights from a diverse but renowned cast of modern day troubadours. Presenting their own interpretations of Drake's songs are Vashti Bunyan, Green Gartside, Lisa Hannigan, Scott Matthews, Teddy Thompson, Krystle Warren, Robyn Hitchcock, Kirsty Almeida and Harper Simon.
