Monodrama Theater, also known as Mono-Drama Theatre, was a late night television series which aired on the DuMont Television Network weekdays at 11pm ET from May 1952 to December 1953.

Something Theater is an American television show created by Bobby Ciraldo, David Robbins, and Andrew Swant. The half-hour program has aired in Southeastern Wisconsin on The CW affiliate WVTV since February 2009. It is broadcast from Milwaukee, Wisconsin on a bi-monthly basis, usually on a Friday night.

Episodes of Something Theater typically have nothing to do with one another, so viewers never know what to expect. Each episode is usually split into short comedic segments that feature animation, music videos, viral videos, short films, or experimental films.

In December 2009 an episode aired which featured outtakes from the forthcoming feature film Hamlet A.D.D..

In May 2010 David Robbins produced an episode entitled "The County Line" which was later shown at The Suburban gallery, curated by Michelle Grabner, and at the No Soul For Sale art fair at the Tate Modern in London.

In July 2010 Something Theater aired an episode that featured a 30-minute version of Gas 'N Fuel, a short film made by the creators of the Found Footage Festival. A 15-minute version of the film had previously screened at the South by Southwest Film Festival and 12 other film festivals.

In September 2010 an episode of Something Theater screened at the Oriental Landmark Theatre as part of the Milwaukee Film Festival.

The Urban Theater was a half-hour syndicated television show which features musical performances recorded live in a production studio. The name is a play on the host's last name. It premiered on July 3, 2000 and ran until the end of 2012. It saw two distinct production concepts and has done a limited number of shows taped live on location.

Shock Theater was a package of 52 classic horror films from Universal Studios released for television showings in October 1957 by Screen Gems, the television subsidiary of Columbia Pictures. The Shock Theater package included Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man and the The Wolf Man. A second package, Son of Shock, was released for television by Screen Gems in 1958, with 20 horror films from both Universal and Columbia.

Shock Theater was usually aired on late night television with a costumed horror host; a well-known example was Zacherley with Philadelphia WCAU-TV, 1957–1958, and New York WABC-TV, 1958–1959. Prior to Zacherely's arrival at WABC-TV, Shock Theater was hosted off-camera by ABC Staff Announcer Scott Vincent. Shock Theater continued the American tradition of horror film television shows such as Vampira. Showings of the Shock Theater package were often introduced by local hosts in the style of Vampira or Zacherley.

One of the most innovative of the series was produced during 1962-63 at the Los Angeles Television station KTLA-TV which was owned by Gene Autry. Gene Autry brought in Bill Aken as musical director and overall producer. Aken re-vamped the commercial breaks making them as entertaining as the films themselves. With spooky music and actors costumed as monsters such as Frankenstein and Dracula, the commercials for sponsor Baldwin Chevrolet took on a whole new aspect. Host Joe Salazar was driven onto the set in an ambulace carrying a coffin which Salazar would emerge from to start the show. Joined by 'Monsters' in all the Chevrolet commercials, with a special theme song, the show garnered an avid fan base all over the Los Angeles area during the two years it was on the air.

Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theatre, sometimes simply called Zane Grey Theatre, is an American Western anthology series which ran on CBS from 1956 to 1961.

DuMont Royal Theater was an American anthology television series which ran on the now-defunct DuMont Television Network from 1951 to 1952. The half-hour series ran during the summer and is best described as a dramatic anthology.

The series helped launch the career of Hugh O'Brian, who later appeared in the popular The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp TV series. Some sources say the sponsor was Royal Gelatin when it was part of Standard Brands.

World Masterpiece Theater is a Japanese TV anime staple that showcased an animated version of a different classical book or story each year on 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. It originally aired from 1969 to 1997 then resumed in 2007.

The first several series were produced by Mushi Production and then by Zuiyo Eizo, and then by Zuiyo's successor Nippon Animation, which was officially established in June 1975 during the run of A Dog of Flanders. In both cases, the series originally aired primarily on Fuji Television. Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata both worked on several of the series. World Masterpiece Theater as produced by Nippon Animation lasted for 23 seasons, from A Dog of Flanders in 1975 to Remi, Nobody's Girl in 1997. Nippon Animation restarted the series in 2007 with the release of Les Misérables: Shōjo Cosette, which premiered on BS Fuji on January 7, 2007, with Porufi no Nagai Tabi subsequently airing on the same network beginning on January 6, 2008, making it the 25th World Masterpiece Theater series. The most recent and 26th series is Kon'nichiwa Anne 〜 Before Green Gables.
