Wallin's animation work using silicon graphics, "Exit (1997)", in which appropriated figures from Hieronymus Bosch paintings are pursued by a huge wall of fire, received attention from all over Europe. Every time the fire surrounds and burns a victim, increasing applause is heard.

There is only one true and definite way out of this world, but countless are the stories and representations, passages or journeys, towards the other, dreamed or feared, side - multitudes of other imaginary worlds which live inside of us; places, objects and beings of our existence, of our transposed world which is inhabited by our dreams.

Olivia works the late shift at the local Exit Bureau, where she spends her nights convincing people to end their lives for society's greater good. One evening, after her supervisor issues a chilling ultimatum, her world begins to fall apart.

This film depicts from the inside the murderous intent of a street thug who attacks a passing pregnant woman. One day, after cutting a maggot to death, the man's previously dormant madness overflows like a dam and floods him with the next carnage. A maggot, a cockroach, a small dog and a pregnant woman. The film uses black-and-white and colour to depict the mental state of the protagonist as he slowly builds up to the murder. In the last scene, the inner world of the man is symbolically expressed, and the urgency with which he searches for an answer is overwhelming. This is a highly accomplished film, both visually and thematically.

The film accompanies two women who have left the Jewish ultra-orthdox community. While Sara is still struggling with the consequences of her pullout, Heidi is already fighting for the rights of women who have the courage to take this step.

Brooding recordings soundtrack the piece while Irving as biker and killer, drives the roads of London, making for the sea, mapping his own dark, heavy trip and the UK as it was. A murder has been committed; what will be the consequences?
