If the cityscapes and patriotic anthems of this film seem a far cry from the bleak landscape of Seoul Train, that's no accident. Dutch filmmaker Pieter Fleury, with the full permission and cooperation of the North Korean government, created this propaganda film that gives us a glimpse of a day in the life of one of the world's most enigmatic societies. A Day in the Life, largely dictated by the North Korean film bureau, follows a typical North Korean family through their daily duties, largely dedicated to the pride in the North Korean nation of comrades and the glory of General Kim Jong Il. The film is meant to extol the success of modern North Korea. But does it? With straight footage and a total absence of narration, viewers may interpret Fleury's film in a slightly different manner than intended

On September 30th 2015 public broadcaster RUV in Iceland invited people to submit videos about their lives on that particular day. The film is made up of those contributions from hundreds of people all over the country. The film premiered on RUV a year later, on October 2nd, as a part of the celebrations of fifty years of RUV TV (September 30th 2016).

The film shows one day from waking up in the morning all the way to waking up again the next morning. The everyday situations that many commercials are made of, the little dramas that they create and solve through the product or service they sell, are stitched together into one day. This is a film about the everyday in (German, or Western-European) society because the commercials are part of the everyday of most people (everyone who watches television) and they depict an ideal image of society. The film abundantly uses repetition as an editing technique, in visual ways as described above, but also because commercials can be read in different ways. For instance, Brat baking foil shows up at the evening dinner sequence, when an ovendish is put on the table, and again later on in the sequence about going out to a classic concert, because the clip has classic music.

A short documentary about the Finnish fisherman, ornithologist, philosopher and deep ecologist Pentti Linkola (1932–2020). As the title indicates, the film focuses on Linkola's everyday activities during one day on his primitive estate and its surroundings in Southern Finland, shot sometime near the end of the summer in 2018. Thus the film is probably the last extensive footage of Linkola before his death on in April 2020 (right at the start of the COVID pandemic) and one of the few showing his everyday life during the summer more in detail. Other documentary films about him have focused more on the fishing that he did for a living during the autumn and winter months, in the luddite way that he did most things (using only a rowboat and a horse-drawn sleigh when the lake froze down).
