Within the imaginary space of ‘Her’ (1978-2008), 28 Meryl Streeps, extracted out of films made by the actress over a period of 30 years, meet to discuss their needs, fears and desires. In ‘Him’ (1968-2008), 23 Jack Nicholsons, derived from films made over four decades, congregate to exchange dialogue that swings in tone from jocularity to paranoia within the space of seconds.

The film was made and presented at the very end of the American involvement in the Vietnam war and uses found footage - imagery that was relatively unseen at that time. It originated from a motive of "look at what's going on here". Imagery gathered by the military for purposes of evaluation and review inadvertently tells a story not intended to be told; the unintended consequence of the juxtaposition of poetry and horror.

Illustrated by numerous archives and unpublished testimonies in France, this documentary traces the progress of the aborted edition of the Cannes Festival in 1968.

"The Restoration of Books" film made by Roger Hill for the Royal College of Art, London. The late Peter Waters was the script consultant and he is shown here making a leather binding, among other operations in the film. Also shown (toward the end) is the making of a limp vellum binding. This very interesting video was made in 1968 about the ongoing book restoration effort at the National Library in Florence, Italy.

Prague in July 1968. The West German television magazine Panorama reports on the situation in the ČSSR, drawing parallels to the developments in Budapest in 1956. Curious and sceptical at the same time, the feature explores the possibilities of an independent reform movement, but also soberly concludes that the Soviet Union will not tolerate this.
