Friday Night Stand-up with Greg Giraldo was a programing block hosted by Greg Giraldo. It aired on Comedy Central from 8-11 PM on Friday nights. It premiered in 2005. Giraldo interviewed guests in front of a live audience while introducing comedy specials.

Some comedians who have appeared include Jeff Dunham, Carlos Mencia and Dane Cook. In 2006, the title was changed to Stand-Up Nation with Greg Giraldo.

In Australia, Friday Night Football is the broadcasting of both the Australian Football League and National Rugby League Friday night matches on television. Friday Night Football is generally considered to be the biggest stage and generates the most publicity for the clubs involved in both codes. The Seven Network have the broadcast rights for the AFL, while the Nine Network holds the rights to the NRL which it has had held since 1992.

Both codes are shown in all states and territories, however the timing and scheduling depends on which code is more dominant in its respective state. The dominant codes are Australian rules football in Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania; and rugby league in New South Wales, Queensland and Australian Capital Territory.

In the dominant states, Friday Night Football is broadcast on the respective networks primary channels. Historically, the code which was not deemed the dominant code for its state was shown in a late-night timeslot, however with the addition of multi-channels, the networks have been able to show matches live all across the country from 2012. AFL matches in New South Wales, Queensland and ACT are shown on 7mate while NRL matches are shown in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia on GEM.

Khwanphon, a modern high school teacher, doesn't believe in long-term relationships or even love. She leads a secret lifestyle, enjoying one-night stands without any commitments. Saturday Live was a British television comedy and music show broadcast by Channel 4 from 1985 to 1987, and in 1988 as Friday Night Live. Influenced by the American show Saturday Night Live, it was produced by Paul Jackson.

The series made stars of Ben Elton, Harry Enfield, Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, and featured appearances by Patrick Marber, Morwenna Banks, Chris Barrie, Emo Philips, Craig Ferguson, Craig Charles and many others. The show featured comic duo Adrian Edmondson and Rik Mayall in their act The Dangerous Brothers.

All episodes were transmitted live, although some material was pre-recorded. Recordings of shows were edited into compilation repeats, retitled Saturday Almost Live.

The show was succeeded by Friday Night Live, a shorter and slightly more tightly-formatted show with Elton as the permanent host, which ran for a single series in 1988. The show's titles consisted of reforming clay animations, highly comparable to early MTV idents.

Download is an Australian TV show hosted by Friday Night Games hosts Mike Goldman, Ryan Fitzgerald and Bree Amer. The show first aired on 26 October 2007. A second series began on 17 October 2008, but the show was pulled from schedules only two episodes into its run.

Shock Theater was a package of 52 classic horror films from Universal Studios released for television showings in October 1957 by Screen Gems, the television subsidiary of Columbia Pictures. The Shock Theater package included Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man and the The Wolf Man. A second package, Son of Shock, was released for television by Screen Gems in 1958, with 20 horror films from both Universal and Columbia.

Shock Theater was usually aired on late night television with a costumed horror host; a well-known example was Zacherley with Philadelphia WCAU-TV, 1957–1958, and New York WABC-TV, 1958–1959. Prior to Zacherely's arrival at WABC-TV, Shock Theater was hosted off-camera by ABC Staff Announcer Scott Vincent. Shock Theater continued the American tradition of horror film television shows such as Vampira. Showings of the Shock Theater package were often introduced by local hosts in the style of Vampira or Zacherley.

One of the most innovative of the series was produced during 1962-63 at the Los Angeles Television station KTLA-TV which was owned by Gene Autry. Gene Autry brought in Bill Aken as musical director and overall producer. Aken re-vamped the commercial breaks making them as entertaining as the films themselves. With spooky music and actors costumed as monsters such as Frankenstein and Dracula, the commercials for sponsor Baldwin Chevrolet took on a whole new aspect. Host Joe Salazar was driven onto the set in an ambulace carrying a coffin which Salazar would emerge from to start the show. Joined by 'Monsters' in all the Chevrolet commercials, with a special theme song, the show garnered an avid fan base all over the Los Angeles area during the two years it was on the air.
