But was he really much of an actor?
I think they just cast him for the ladies.

I never watched any of his Fast & Furious movies. I only saw him in one movie (Timeline) Later on down the track I realised who he was. But I did think he was pretty good. My eyes were focused elsewhere

It is in "Timeline (2003)" where I first saw him acting. He must have made that movie, while also busy filming " 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)".
He did well as an action hero in these movies. His acting does seem limited to that genre, but it could have improved if not for his untimely death in 2013.

While sharing a first name, I have always found Paul to be a very down to earth guy... and a little put out that they are doing FF8
