Justice League fiasco may hurt Aquaman success. Link to article

The most important job of their current picture, in addition to making lots of money for the studio, was to tee up the James Wan-directed, Jason Momoa-starring picture about the undersea hero. But Justice League’s muddled story and thin characterization have left Arthur Curry and his trident-wielding alter ego adrift, a mere cipher without much personality.

It also puts pressure on Aquaman. Just read how much money WB will lose with JL.

It's hard not to conclude from this that making tentpole superhero movies for under $100 million is smart and that in most cases making them for $200 million or more is pretty dumb.

Fans are upset because of a big tweak in the backstory of King Nereus and Queen Mera.

In the comics, King Nereus was “intended” to Queen Mera back when the latter was living in her home colony on Xebel. Before they were married, Mera was actually sent out to assassinate Aquaman, though she ended up falling in love with him instead. But in a recent sitdown with the Las Vegas Review Journal, Lundgren confirmed that Nereus and Mera’s relationship will be dramatically different on the big screen. Rather than being betrothed to one another, Nereus will actually be Mera’s father in the DCEU.

Aquaman seems to have flaws, but WB has time to fix them. Read here. Knowing WB, they might make things worse. They also thought they had time to fix JL. LOL

"The conversations about the Aquaman test screening, I'll say, some people heard positive," Hughes said. "We were just talking about this topic minutes ago. Some people heard positive things. Me, personally, I'll go ahead and just say: Honestly, I've heard some negative things. I think there are some issues to be resolved. There are some things to be worked out with Aquaman."

Hughes then goes on to remark it is a James Wan movie and that they have a lot of time to fix things, and he hopes they get it right as he is a big fan.

This author thinks we shouldn't worry.

Aquaman was completed during the release of Justice League, so by all accounts, DC and WB were not able to interfere with Wan’s vision as an overreaction to Justice League. As they have done with every DCEU movie so far.

If characters are recast, then we lose the embodiment of Wonder Woman that Gal Gadot is, and the physicality of Henry Cavill, who looks like he leaped off the pages of a Superman comic. Not to mention Jason Momoa and a (apparently) just as muscle bound J. K. Simmons.

An all out romantic super hero love story is also something that’s sorely missing in the DCEU, and Flashpoint can definitely look to remedy that.

I wouldn't be so sure. It's out in December. They have seven months to ruin it. LOL

I don't think Aquaman is done yet. Something weird is going on with that film. But we all know that WB will pretend everything is fine. Now more than ever!

They finished JL's reshoots two months before it was released. So seven months is a very long time.

We shouldn't trust WB, but I have faith in director James Wan. Fans were making things up and nagging about a teaser and trailer. So JW explained a few things on Twitter and I choose to believe him.

Hey friends, I usually do my best to avoid internet noises (especially fabricated distractions) but a teaser-trailer going out this weekend was never in the books — despite what some claim. It’s not because of anyone or any nefarious reason holding it back — IT’S ME. (1/3)

I am simply not ready yet to share. This movie is filled to the gills with VFX, and the process is as slow and laborious as a sea-slug! Yes, even shots for the trailers take forever to do, and I refuse to put out anything that might be construed as subpar. (2/3)

I know it seems like nothing much is brewing above the surface, but I can assure you, we’re working nonstop under the waves (3/3). (Ps: And yes, I plan to use oceanic puns/references every chance I get)

According to Fox News, the world will end on April 23rd by either the biblical Rapture or by Planet X crashing into Earth.

Fan: Gonna need Zack to reveal everything that was supposed to happen in Justice League before then lol..

ZS: Ya why do you think The Wayne financial building is 23 April Street https://i.redd.it/xydowk27fqr01.jpg

SM easter egg in Aquaman. Also, Randall Park joined the cast. Yes, they're still casting people. Why are they changing the story? I smell trouble.

Yesterday saw director James Wann announce that Randall Park has joined the cast of the film as the DC Comics character Dr. Shin.

Let SM have a cameo in it!

ZS will comment on everything.

Luthor tells Superman when he arrived on the rooftop he had an hour and now that time is less. A popular Instagram account, @dceu_forever, pointed out that after this incident in the film occurs, the film ends at exactly an hour after this is said. When the post was shared on Vero, Zack Snyder simply stated in a comment, “We Like That.”

Yeah, the film ended an hour later, but HC had less than an hour. So....

SM is a plushy in Shazam. His name is written on a piece of paper in Aquaman. We want the real thing!

I don’t want the world to end without apologizing. I shouldn’t have gone nuts on HC. The evil mustache made me do it. I take it all back. People shouldn’t be online on holidays. Maybe HC doesn’t even believe in Christmas and Easter anymore. sob

Do you think I’ll go to heaven now? innocent LOL

No, I don't think you mean it. You're just doing that because HC shaved. stuck_out_tongue

I don't know what to think anymore. Dr. Shin is not an insignificant character.

I don’t believe JW, but he says the new casting isn’t accurate. He cast Randall a year ago and Dr Shin was in the script since day one. Read here.

And he keeps it short. rofl

Yesterday, a fan on Reddit found a new still of Batman (Ben Affleck) in Justice League. It showed him talking to Commissioner Gordon (J.K. Simmons) while perched on top of the gargoyle. While fans were curious about the origin of the picture at first, there was an eventual consensus that it was, in fact, an image released for the promotion of Justice League. You can read the full story here.

However, the story doesn’t just end there. Late last night Zack Snyder actually took to Vero to confirm that, while this scene wasn’t in the final movie, he had, in fact, shot it

And he has friends to defend him. LOL

...the post-credits sequence which saw a maritime rendezvous between Lex Luthor and Deathstroke take place. At the heart of this was a video made by cinematographer Simon Firsht, which  led people to believe that Whedon shot the stinger.

Well, thanks to a new picture of Slade Wilson making its rounds, it seems we now have our answer. Originally posted by Zack Snyder and then Tweeted by DC Films Hub, the latter’s post says the auteur confirms “he shot the Lex scene,” to which Joe Manganiello replied, “he did.”

If anyone knows who shot which scenes, it’s most assuredly the actors who featured in the picture. On top of that, Manganiello soon posted the picture for himself, captioning it with “my meeting with Lex” and tagging Snyder.

Article here.

Don't try to steal his scenes. LOL
