Henry is contractually obligated to play Superman one more time.

Do you want Superman solo or in a team (i.e., MOS 2 or JL 2) and why?

I had no idea ZL was Fandral in Thor 2 and 3. Pic here. He’s the left one.

I didn't know that either. But why do they keep hire MCEU people?

How annoying. There is no shortage of actors. So what’s the deal?

I don’t mind ZL as Shazam. His role in Thor was small and he was really unrecognizable. But Danniel Huston was a colonel in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and a general in WW. You can say he played the same role in both films. And those roles weren’t small and he was completely recognizable.

Shazam wishes SM happy BD by punching him in the face. smiley

Happy birthday, old man! You don’t look a day past 75. 😘 Now stop running into my fist!

Brandon Routh throws shade at HC. scream

Did you ever meet Henry Cavill? Apparently, he also tried out for Superman Returns…

I met Henry extremely briefly at Comic-Con four years ago, in the hallway, as we were crossing paths. We just said hello and congratulations. He would know better than I would if he tested for the McG project? I think he might have tested for that? I don't know if he tested for Bryan's film or not. I've heard rumors that it was between us for that, but I don't know how close he was on that in the end. But I didn't expect to see him at Comic-Con, so we literally got ten seconds of shaking hands and saying hello. He's a physically impressive dude! He fits the role well, just even in that. Seeing him in person, it was startling to me how much he looks like Christopher Reeve in a different way than I do. I don't think Henry and I look much alike, but he shares one quality with Chris, and I share a separate quality with Chris.

How?

Well, we're a different body type. I'm taller than Henry. I'm ectomorphic. I have a long frame, a long torso. I'm not sure if Chris did or not, but I have more of a swimmer's body, so weight looks different on me. And I gained about 25 pounds of muscle, and weighed about 225 pounds during the movie. Chris was taller than me. He was 6'4".

How tall are you?

I'm 6'2 ½".

No, BR didn’t throw any shade. stuck_out_tongue

HC was set to play SM in an McG 2004 film. I don’t think he tested again for SR bc BS wanted someone who looked like CR. He came up with the idea of SM returning to Earth after five years during the filming of X2 in 2003. HC doesn’t look like CR. Why would they let him audition?

HC looks nothing like CR. BR was just being polite and careful. He resembles CR a lot. Does that make him a better SM than HC? No, but people may think he’s implying that by acknowledging that he resembles CR. I think that’s why he said that HC resembles CR too.

The name Bryan Singer makes me want to puke. I thought he was an ephebophile, but he might be a pedophile. I really hate that he’s involved with Phoenix.

Bad news. Link to article

During an interview at CinemaCon last night, the British actor was asked when he might suit up as Superman again and it sounds like he's optimistic for the future. "I can’t answer that definitively right now. I’m hoping sooner rather than later. I’ve been talking to certain people and hopefully we’re going to be talking to other people who are responsible for making those calls. We shall see."

I know that pervert likes teenage boys (16-19). But where did you get pedophile?

They're talking about MOS 2. That's good.

HC and CMcQ talked about MOS 2.

With Henry Cavill continuing to talk about possible ideas for Man of Steel 2, it appears that director Christopher McQuarrie has had some serious conversations with the actor about the film and whether he would take on the project.

However, during an interview with ComicBook, McQuarrie revealed that he had conversations with Cavill about ideas for a proposed sequel and that he’s interested in being involved.

https://screenrant.com/man-steel-2-christopher-mcquarrie-henry-cavill/

McQuarrie said:

“We had a lot of time hanging out on set, and Henry’s a huge fan of Superman. I can’t help but talk story to people, so he told me his take on Superman and I thought it was really great, and I gave him my two cents. The tweet you’re referring to is somebody asked ‘Would you do it?’ and I said ‘Hey, they know where to find me.’ Nobody’s asked, but you know…”

MOS sequels or various appearances across several DC films?

Something I’ve been talking about on the El Fanboy Podcast since last November, and that I’ve written about a couple of times here on Revenge of The Fans, is that Warner Bros. is very high on Henry Cavill as Superman. In fact, they were so pleased with his portrayal in the theatrical cut of Justice League and the way test audiences took to him, that they were preparing to fast-track a Superman sequel had JL been a runaway hit.

According to Collider, the studio is so enamored with Cavill’s Superman that- aside from sequels- they want him to sign a deal that would include various appearances across several DC film projects.

In recent months, while trying to make sense of what the two sides want, I’ve speculated that it could be something as simple as money- With Cavill wanting a hefty raise to stay on and the studio wanting to see how his sequel does before ponying up the cash. But it now sounds like it could have more to do with the number of appearances the studio wants.

“The rumor I heard was they wanted to make Superman the glue that ties all the DC movies together, which would feature the iconic character making small, but memorable, appearances in all the movies sort of like the way Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury pops up in most of the Marvel movies.”

Something I said on recent El Fanboy that I’d like to include here is that things are definitely more put-together behind-the-scenes than Cavill’s public comments imply. How do I know this? Because a few WB employees have laid eyes on visual designs for updates to Superman’s suit- and designers wouldn’t be working on that if there weren’t already a Superman appearance set to occur. My gut tells me they’re for his Shazam! cameo, but who knows?

As for what these updates are? It seems like they’re just weighing different options. There’s a variation that looks a little less alien, which does away with the metallic under-suit. There’s also one that places more emphasis on the belt area, and looks more like the Rebirth suit.

good news:

  • Considering both sides are keen to keep this relationship going, you just know they’ll strike a deal
  • The fact that directors like Matthew Vaughn, Christopher McQuarrie, and J.A. Bayona have made public statements about their interest in directing a Superman sequel means that we can rest assured that the film will get a quality director, and that- despite some highly polarizing cinematic outings in recent- Superman is still a Holy Grail property

He’s determined to make MOS 2 happen.

“There’s a lot of story I’d love to tell and if that stuff starts to happen, and with exciting filmmakers, who I have close relationships with, then regardless whether I have one more or not, I’m doing it, because I want to tell more of the Superman story,” he said.

I was going to ask the same thing.

I’m not saying that he is. Sometimes pedophile isn’t used properly. But I got it from his Wiki page.

Allegations against Singer were revived following the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse allegations in 2017, as well as those against frequent collaborator Kevin Spacey. His name began floating around following the initial backlash, with commenters linking Singer to a culture of pedophilia in Hollywood.

Both!

What the hell?

SS was crap, but it made a lot of money, right? Still, WB pushed it so they can make BOP. So they don’t seem eager to make the sequel. That’s because WB think that heroines and female directors are their salvation. LOL Why? Because of WW and PJ. But what they should realize is that they should stick with one hero per film. MOS is a one hero film.

WB seem to forget that MOS is the second highest-grossing SM film. That was HC’s first big budget film and he accomplished that alone. WB had blind faith in BA and BM, but what did adding them accomplish? Nothing. So WB should stop beating around the bush and give MOS a sequel. If they think women are their talisman (LOL), then let a woman direct MOS 2.

$75 million isn't low, but it isn't big either. Big budget is at least over a $100 million.

HC has his eyes on CMcQ,

It remains something on Warner Bros. ever-shifting DC slate, but it's going to need a director before anything can really move forward. Matthew Vaughn was linked last year, but more recent rumours have pegged Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation's Chris McQuarrie's to helm the movie. And he might just do it. Asked by CinePOP about the possibility of directing the sequel, he said:

"If Henry asked me to, sure, why not?”

I’m surprised that Immortals didn’t get a sequel. Is a crappy film, but HC is stunning in it. Actually, the whole cast was hot. But now it’s too late. Even The Rock’s Hercules couldn’t make 2.5 times $100 million. That’s how you know that the sandal genre is dead. rofl

Don’t forget TMFU. Gorgeous! But it bombed. But most of Guy Ritchie’s films do. He made nine films and only three were a success. And guess who was in them? Brad Pit was in one and Rob Downey Jr. (Sherlock) in the other two. HC and Charlie Hunnam weren’t big enough.
