Discuss 黒澤明

There's no question that Kurosawa was a master but I guess even the greats are fallible... of those I have seen my least favourite is The Idiot, a flat and deeply flawed adaptation of Dostoevsky's superb novel (relocated to Japan from 19th century Russia). Apparently there was a much longer, definitive cut of this film which was lost and I do wonder what might have been, but this movie was a massive disappointment to me.
